Completely off topic but holy shit where are you living if sales tax on vehicles is over 11%??

Completely off topic but holy shit what calculator are you using?

When you divide $15,000 by $175,000 you get 8.5% (0.0857 to be exact) which is a state sales tax rate lower than Kalifornia.

Reading comprehension people. I said it's CLOSE to 15,000. Not EXACTLY $15,000

What state even has vehicle sales tax that high!?!? Shit, Virginia is 4.15%. Ya'll live in some Democrat controlled hell hole? Lolz.

Just bustin your balls but if anyone is paying that amount of tax that seriously sucks and definitely lucky depreciation hasn't hit as hard as other vehicles.

Pretty impressive considering that sales tax on approximately $175,000 of vehicles is close to the $15,000 you say it cost you to drive them.

In FL you pay no sales tax on the purchase price if your trade in is more or equal in value. This applies to multiple item trade in's and it does not matter how much you owe on your trade at the time you trade it in. If you trade is less you just deduct that from the sales price and the difference is the amount you pay sales tax on.

I had forgotten about that in some states. Often times can be better to trade in than sell privately just for that reason.

In NY, you pay tax on the difference of the trade in and new car. Its worth trading in a car instead of selling. I've saved tons.
