Say what you want.im a v8 guy for 40 years.didnt want 17.now that i have it,great.towes and runs better than 14 6.2. Just saying

just so we are clear. its not an opinion the ttv6 sounds like a bag of smashed ******** being ran through one of those air dryers at the car wash.

thats such a fact, ford put a ******* speaker on the inside of the truck, just to make sure you wouldnt hear what it really sounds like.

No, they didn’t put a speaker in the truck for the exhaust. They just pipe it into your existing speakers. So does my Lexus GS F sport. And probably other vehicles.

Depending on how old you guys are, you will have to endure fewer and fewer V8s on the road in the future.

Best selling engine in the best selling truck. Yep, Ford definitely ****** that one up. :crazy:
I think it's the best selling engine because Ford has cut out all the other options for most submodels of the f150. The Ecoboost is a fine engine but it has it's drawbacks and Ford is definitely betting hard on their Eco v6 and 4 line.

First, I don't dispute the FACTS that you posted. I clearly stated that V6s produce white noise, and stated that I prefer it. There is no ignorance or dispute on my part.

Regarding your Gen 1 being faster than a Gen 2, that's why I specified stock for stock... once you start modifying them, all bets are off.

Regarding my preference for white noise, let's make this really basic so you can understand it... what is your favorite beverage?

No, I posted it in an effort to demonstrate the suitability of the EBV6 in a 1/2 ton truck. This, in turn, was done in an effort to illustrate that the sound/noise argument (as ******* stupid and tiresome as it is) is 100% opinion based while the actual performance is clearly based in fact (the "stopwatch" in the video I posted doesn't lie).

You'll notice that my responses in this thread didn't become troll-ish until people started in with the same old opinion based argument "but it sounds like poo poo". The sound of the ******* thing isn't the point... the performance of the ******* thing IS the point, and that's the purpose of this thread.

At least one of Truckzor's "facts" is wrong: the TTV6 has more lower end torque (and it hits faster) than the 6.2. So yeah, the V6 is actually better for off-road application than the 6.2...

Did you know that excess estrogen in the water supply is causing mens' testosterone levels to be lower than they ever have been? I surmise that there is a direct correlation between V6 truck sales and estrogen levels in modern men.

OP: if you really - really were simply posting a comparison for the ‘viability of the TT6 in a truck as compared to the v8, then why did you deliberately entitle it to incite this rancor?

The V8-or-die crowd is claiming a technicality where V8 torque in the sub 1,000rpm range is better by a small percentage. But if a driver is spending a lot of time at 500rpm, he is definitely doing it wrong.

If you are right, why does BMW need to pipe fake noise into their V8TT M5? Turbocharged engines sound like shit.

I've heard plenty of TTV8s sound GREAT. Porsche Cayenne, all the big Mercs, modded Mustangs, etc. All the current M Bimmers in my area sound good, as well. Except of course the M3. When I heard one of those go by for the first time I actually felt bad for the guy.

In the real world it's less efficient than a big lazy V8. And for enthusiasts it has less potential. It's not going to last as long. Doesn't have any low end torque. Has boost lag. It's just not a very good motor for a truck. It belongs in a Taurus SHO.

Now if you said we are ALL going to have to get used to fewer and fewer gas powered vehicles in the future, that I would agree with.

You're completely full of shit bro. Put down the kool-aid and get educated...

Try it's better by DOUBLE at 1000 RPM (probably quadruple or more just off idle) and the dinky little V6 doesn't cross the line until 2200 or so. And god forbid you let off the gas and lose your boost surge, because then you'll have NO power until they spool again.

It's just not a great truck motor. At least not if you need throttle modulation and responsiveness. Bottom line, it's a great Taurus SHO motor. Does it work in a truck? Sure. Just not very well.

Look at those FLAT torque curves for the V8s. That, along with their throttle responsiveness and no boost lag, is what makes them good truck motors. They will also last forever and don't lose 100 horsepower when heat soaked. They have fewer parts to fail out in the boonies... I could go on. But you guys have your heads shoved so far up the collective asses of Ford's marketing department there's no point.

Just like there's no point to this thread.

I'll own being a troll the day that you admit that you're wrong about something. ANYthing. The last go 'round we had was in regard to the reason that V6s exist at all, and no matter how much evidence I provided to prove that you were wrong, you wouldn't admit it (despite claiming that you'd "be the first to admit" that you were wrong if it was illustrated that that was the case).

Since you're interested in "my" definition of white noise, I'll go with the, ya know, ACTUAL definition: a heterogeneous mixture of sound waves extending over a wide frequency range (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/white noise)

Now... can YOU prove that the exhaust note of a V6 meets the above criteria? Edit: make that, "ALL V6s"

Also, you didn't answer my question... what is your favorite beverage?
