OP made the thread to argue....and will no matter what apparently.

No, OP made the thread to demonstrate (read: there is actual evidence, not mere opinion) that the EB is a viable truck motor, despite the claims of some die-hard "V8ISTHEONLYWAY" members of this forum.

No. It is a fact that a V6 engine produces white NOISE.

You guys really need to quit denying science.

What you're not getting here is that I'm not denying that V6 engines produce white noise. I PREFER white noise.

NOW what??

Just because a tool is capable of getting a job done doesn't necessarily make it the right tool for the job. The EBV6 is a GREAT motor for a Taurus SHO. In fact, it is the IDEAL motor for transverse mounted FWD passenger cars.

Yes, it also works in a truck. But the trade offs are many. Especially for an off road truck where you want low end torque and need to be able to modulate the throttle.

These are FACTS.

Noise is, by its very definition, unpleasant and/or disturbing. Fact.

Are we done here, troll?

As it is a FACT that stock for stock, the Gen 2 Raptor is just as, if not more capable in every way than the Gen 1.

What is also FACT is that the Gen 2 Raptor is faster than the Gen 1... and don't pull some "only homos drag race their trucks" ********, because you know as well as I do that if the Gen 1 was faster, you wouldn't shut up about it

No, white noise is, by its very definition, soothing to many people, hence the white noise devices sold by the millions. Are we done here, obnoxious shit who's in over his head again?

If anyone who hasn't already decided wants a REAL TIME test of a 2012 V8 Raptor and a 2016 FX4 with a 3.5TT, (close enough to a Raptor 3.5). This isn't a TV, youtube BS test.

I pulled a 14' cargo trailer 2000 miles (yr apart, but exact same trip). Most at freeway speed (a lot at 70). This was across country in the northern part of the country. Read that as mountains, some near 6000 ft elev passes and lessor ones but 6 or 7 of them.

The V8 didn't shift much, the TT all the time when any elevation was encountered. The V8 held back well with a couple gears down shifting. The TT went all the way to second gear and 5000 rpm. Gas mileage was very close with the V8 doing better by .3 (12.1 vs 12.4).

Now this is the heavier Raptor so this is moot, but it felt much solider towing even though it's rated 6000 towing and the FX is rated 12000 (heavy package).

Back home, the FX is getting 21-22 mpg when it isn't towing and the Raptor is 16. Since towing is about 10% of the miles for me, the FX whips the crap out of the V8 for gas cost. The FX flat out has a big set of balls and really will haul ass. Blow the doors off the old V8.

I'd love it both ways, but I think what is, is what is.....

You conveniently ignore the FACTS I posted.

And my Gen 1 is a LOT faster than a Gen 2 but you don't ever see me posting about it.

Please provide evidence to support your assertions.

You made this thread to troll, if you honestly claim you didn't know exactly what this would devolve into, then you're lying to yourself.

This isn't anything but a troll thread and your responses bear that out.

I have posted the science behind different engine sounds on multiple occasions, my friend. The science shows that a V6 is effectively a white noise machine. You know this. And so does Ford. That is precisely why they piped in the fake noise, which sounds so much better than the real noise. It's all science based.

If you are right, why does BMW need to pipe fake noise into their V8TT M5? Turbocharged engines sound like shit.
