Ok, first of all I researched on this forum and everywhere!

I'm looking at upgrading my 2020 Raptor to E85 - seems I need a HPFP and a Tune. Most places are saying either the HPFP or new Fuel Injectors but sounds like the HPFP is the best bet. Anything else might be needed? In Tank Fuel Pump, etc?

I'm also looking at upgrading the Turbos. Full Race is a out of my budget but looks like CR Performance has a good happy medium.

Does anyone know more details or has had positive/negative experiences going E85 and / or upgrading turbos?

Will the stock Transmission, other parts support the E85 and/or Turbo upgrades?

Thanks for all the advice and opinions!

Also, FYI - looks like Brew City Boost has some good setups and options and were very helpful on the phone. I spoke with MPT, Brew City, ZRF Racing and Livernois. All say very slightly different things.

I put the upgraded GearHead turbos on mine it’s a 2018 also I run like 30% ethanol in mine I have an upgraded my fuel pump or fuel injectors though but together it makes a huge difference the turbos are awesome and I drove a 2020 brand new one yesterday at a Ford dealership hereAnd it felt super soft compared to mine

Have heard good things about the GearHead Turbo’s. No personal experience. Make sure you upgrade the Turbo Adapters while you’re at it. SPD or AMS...the AMS’s are less expensive, stainless steel and have over 25% internal surface area diameter increase over the SPD’s and over 50% diam increase over stock. Not sure why SPD is a lot more popular; maybe cuz they were first? I’m guessing MegaR did this and can comment.

I purchased it through 5 star tuning and they are doing the initial tune plus I purchased from MPT. From what I understand they have done several eco boost turbos tunes before.

I realize these are simple questions, but can you explain to me how the HPFP will help in this setup? As well as the forged short block? And the JMS (or DW400)? I've heard that the stage 4 setup will be around 530 RWHP and thought the stock fuel pump was rated to 600.

What are you planning on power wise to get to? And do you have an trans concerns?

Gotcha. I have spoke with 5star about a tune. I know 5 star has done a few of these type builds.
Well I'm doing the short block cause I blew my stock motor. No clue yet, will dig into it when I send it back to Ryan at RMB for a teardown.
As far as the HPFP goes I was told that with my setup it would fall off up top without it. And if you want the option to run E85 you have to have it. I couldn't decide between the Xdi-35 or Xdi-60 so settled on the new XDi-evo HPFP. I bought that through Goosetune. Goosetune also recommended the JMS Fuelmax and the Dw400. Im going to try it with stock fuel pump and see. If it falls short ill throw the DW400 in.
Really not sure what kind if power but shooting for 550-600 WHP on 37s. Might not make it but #goals. Of course tranny is a concern but will have to see how it goes.
I heard nothing but great things about Goosetune tunes so might have to see what he can do with a tune.

Realize if you can make it to 560 horsepower that extrapolates to just about 700 at the flywheel which certainly makes it competitive with a new 5.2 Liter Raptor or a TRX

For a lot less money.

Oh, now I have to think. Who told you that you needed a HPFP? And what do you mean by "fall off the top?" I'm pushing a similar setup, but won't go with a super aggro tune, just the daily driver, so now I'm worried. Car is in the shop and I could certainly order one to have it installed at the same time, but that'd be another $2000.... :)

Can you tell me more about your motor, and what could have caused it? How old was it? What tune were you running, etc..?

As for the transmission, my thinking was that f-150's v-8's with a supercharger are a dime a dozen and the transmission seems to be just fine. Is that line of thinking way off?

The transmission will be fine.

You just can’t over do it on the torque produced in the lower RPM range. The magic number seems to be not to exceed 580lb*ft. On 93 octane the realistic goal with 46mm turbos seems to be about 550 horsepower on a stock fuel system.

if you push it any more than that you’re going to end up like Switzer. Kaboom! The stock bottom end can’t handle it. It has very close tolerances and the heat and shear Overwhelm the lubrication.

So I'm local to Gearhead and was considering their turbos as well as CRPs. I called to speak with both about them. I called Gearhead 3times without and answer. Sent them an email about them for more info and it was pretty short. Like yep they have them In Stock and ready. CR Performce answered every question and had lots of details . Im not saying Gearhead is not good but I went with CRP. Gearhead might be the best aftermarket turbo upgrade but
Gearhead don't have much info about their turbos on their website either.

I mean I don't think its something that you just have to have. It was something that Ryan at RMB said that most of his clients end up with one and its usually the 60.
My old motor is a 17 Raptor with 101k miles on it. Had a MPT PRX 93 tune for over 75k. Everything was fine until one day I got off the cruise and she sounded like a diesel and had no power. Pulled over and my crank pulley was doing a pretty bad shimmy. So I got out the tools and the crank bolt is snug and torqued to spec. So no clue what happened yet. I haven't had time to dig into it so goi g to send it back to Ryan and he will tear it down.
Rite on the transmission and its the same one that's in the camaro zl1 with 650 stock hp.

as long as it’s tuner well you aren’t going to shred the transmission.

I did shred my rear pumpkin with a 93 octane tune and bolt ons though.

Ah but is it really the "same", or a variant? There can be a BIG difference.
