The article mentioned this about the 10sp trans :

It will be interesting to see how the 10 speed automatic transmission is going to work also. I’m sure it will help with things like fuel efficiency and driving down the highway like (unfortunately) the average owner will use the truck. But what about guys and/or girls like us that want to use the raptor like it supposed to be used? How will it hold up out in the wilderness? That is yet to be determined. Is it going to be constantly changing gears trying to find the right gear like I see on these 8 speed trans that your seeing in cars now? We surely hope not. One thing is for sure, the 2017 SVT Raptor will have some pretty big shoes to fill.

I don't know about you guys but the current trans is HORRIBLE! Stomp on the gas in the current Raptor and sometimes it shifts and sometimes it doesn't. And this is why most guys run tunes as the current raptor is slow to respond and when it does respond it wants to get to 6 as fast as possible. I for one am looking forward to the 10speed. It can't be worst than the current trans. My only concern is its reliability. If it is reliable, then it has to be better than the current 6-speed.

Exactly. Sport Mode button will get rid of that.

Six preset modes help the truck power through different terrain and driving conditions:

• Normal mode for everyday driving
  
• Street mode for higher-performance, on-road driving
  
• Weather mode for rain, snow or ice
  
• Mud and sand mode for muddy and sandy trails and terrain
  
• Baja mode for high-speed desert running and
  
• Rock mode for low-speed rock crawling

Whoops thought you meant street mode. But for a SPORT turn everything off mode, no, nothing confirmed.

STREET mode likely will limit those, but possible in the other modes (BAJA) they may further disable the nannies.

I agree that the stock gen 1 tune is sluggish. Like you stated, get s tune. I purchased the SVC tune early on and now have zero complaints at all about the 6 speed transmission.
