Gonna be a typical FX4 owner here, but is what is called Advanced Trac Sport Mode on the Raptor really any different than when a normal F150 owner presses the Traction Control button one time? According to the SVT Offroad Supplement, you guys get a Performance Calibration for traction control, and increased Yaw when you press the TC button one time when not in Offroad mode. Everything else is normal. In a normal F150 manual it says the TC entry threshold is higher along with the ESC entry threshold. It's not like it changes throttle mapping and shift strategy like being in Offroad mode does.

That is true. A true sport mode would also alter throttle and shift points that can be accomplished with use of tow/haul or off road mode. So I use the T/C sport mode and tow/haul gives you the T/C and trans alterations to be close to off road mode with out the sluggish throttle of Off road mode.

I like the old and the new and think the new will make me happy for sure but my old one will always be a great truck.

I will shut up now

I think the Sport mode will be similar to what is on the 2015+ Mustang with Premium package. Increased throttle response, holds gears longer to stay in the power band, basically performance at the cost of fuel.

My thought process:

The government is mandating increased efficiency/decreased emissions. So that's why our transmission is set to shift from 1 --> 2 --> 3 before even crossing an intersection, it keep the RPMs low, meaning decreased fuel consumption...at the expense of power/performance. Basically, normal driving is an "eco" mode. Well now, instead of having an aftermarket tune, you just press that Sport button and you get the fun-to-drive factor, but the vehicle still passes the government desires for efficiency, etc.

The tech works great in the Mustang and should bring the fun-to-drive factor out on our trucks while on the street.

That's exactly what Sport Mode does in the 15-16 F150's and it was quite noticeable in the ones I drove, 2.7L and 5.0L. But since the calibration is currently being shared, or very similar to the Automatic Mustangs, it could all go out the window since Ford hasn't said anything about the Mustang receiving the 10speed.

I drove a new F150 5.0 for a few days last month and I forgot I did use sport it was a nice improvement. Funny thing is I totally forgot that I drove that truck I guess I forgot because I missed my Raptor!!

As I remember it was a nice improvement over the normal last F150 in terms of ride quality.

The new F150s sport mode is cool...especially in wet pavement with the locker locked and traction control off [emoji1591][emoji1591][emoji1591]
