I would rather have the NA V8 and displacement over a turbo V6. You can always make the V8 put out more power. THere is no way a modded turbo V6 can compete with a 6+ liter V8 that is modded. Save your money on the new truck and add a supercharger to your 6.2. You didnt buy this truck for fuel economy.

also, the gen2 raptor's tailgate looks like a big pile of crappy plastic. not a fan
You've clearly never owned and modded forced induction vehicles before or you aren't considering cost. A n/a 6.2 and a 3.5 tt are about equal stock for stock. 1500 bucks in a few bolt ons will gain you maybe 20 hp on the n/a and same money will gain you about 4 to 5 times that gain on a tt, allowing the lightly modded tt to whip the lightly modded n/a.

Of course 8k into going s/c on the 6.2 will get big gains but at big costs to that you won't need to spend nearly as much on the factory tt one to get to that same power level

Why would you make that assumption? My point is exactly what you stated. A 6.2L with a supercharger will have a lot more power safely then anything you can do to the tt v6 again safely. You do make a good point about the cost of increasing power but the top end on V6 that does not drive like crap or work the engine too hard will not be the same as a V8. And yes I have forced induction vehicles. I have a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V coupe with the SC'd LSA engine. And yes I put about $2k into it (cai, tune, upper pulley) and gained about another crank 100HP.

Here's my V

How much horsepower can you safely add to the 3.5 TT while maintaining reliability? I don't think anyone is doubting that the ecoboost can be tuned/modded for a whole lot more power. Im just wondering how much it can safely take and still go for 200k miles. Anyone?

Your factory supercharged V. No surprise 2k in mods gained you 100 hp when it's already sc, and 2k in mods can gain a 3.5 eb 100 hp, but it's going to take 8 grand or more to gain that same 100 hp from a n/a 6.2. That's my whole point need to keep cost in mind for trying to make a comparison

I agree with you in terms of cost. But you could make the 6.2 well over 600hp. And it will still run and drive great

That's the problem. You can make small displacement big HP but it's 1. Going to sound like a pocket rocket which sucks. 2. Overworking the engine.

I will still take a 6.2 v8. Just me though

IMO part of the ecoboost swap, aside from MPG and EPA implications, is weight and of course commitment to the ecoboost platform. America's best selling truck for 38 years is currently sporting two ecoboost options in the 2.7L and 3.5L. What would Ford be saying by not implementing an Ecoboost into their most widely known specialty vehicle?

IDK Maybe here is a Raptor! Baddest Mother ******* Truck on the planet! Drive this Sob 85 MPH across a field.

100%! Raptor is not supposed to be practical. Supposed to be fun. Like a sports car

Yup Ford did NOT want it to be practical at all, but they were forced to shove all the practicality into it lol.

Statements like that are as dumb as ones saying if you want better fuel economy drive a prius, like that's a comparable vehicle in the slightest. Many of us DD our Raptor and use it for work and towing and family hauling, etc. because it IS so practical, while also being fun at the same time.
