The realm of possibility is possible if you have LOTS & LOTS of $$.

When asked what the cost of the GT, Ford replied with what is the most expensive Ford product? Well the GT will more than twice that and beyond.

I do not want a 600hp Raptor. It will require 93 octane and most likely beyond my bank account.

Most likely the 3.5 will also require premium or at least 91 minimum due to higher compression rate

550-600 hp would be an insane number for a stock gas truck

We've already got the Shelby 590hp option is it that hard to imagine for the Raptor they might actually be working on a v8 eco option in that range? Maybe they are and it'll be a limited (and expensive Raptor R) but I'm hoping the rumors are right but it'll just be an optional engine in the same hp range. If not, we'll see what the final product looks like in the 2017 with the 3.5.

The Shelby is much lower production quantity, and a different target market.

With no competition to the raptor all they have to do is market to prior customers and a few new.

As long as it's slightly better then the current one, they save millions in R&D and bring back repeat customers.

In the grand scheme of profitability the raptor does not net maximum profits. Sales numbers are not high enough. And as a publicly traded company the goal is to make investors happy, therefor make profits.

They could kill the raptor and loose less than 0.01% of sales / profits.

I would take one.... I put 93 in mine already. Although the higher they go the less people will be willing to buy one. If they could make the turbo v8 a $2,500-$3,500 option I'm sure a bunch of people would jump on it.

A 'Raptor R' will just be a Roush, Shelby, or Hennessy. All of which I wouldnt spring for since they are going to be $75k just like Gen 1.

Sales-wise no but getting plenty of press. Maybe not the kind of power that the ol' win on Sunday, sell on Monday has done over the years but I think the Raptor is worth more than just another truck version to Ford. If not, why even bring it back? They could have easily nixed it and moved on to the next SVT (oops Ford Performance) vehicle.

All this V6 talk made me think WTF? Let me start modding the 14! Front bumper ordered, possibly a rear in the next 2 days, and looking for a rack.
