Would it just be an engine option or would they make it a more exclusive Raptor R type machine? I don't mind a rare Raptor R type model but if there really is a 5.0L Eco option I hope they have one version that is mainly just an engine option that is only a few grand more (3-5K max). I think there would be a nice line for that one!

I"m hoping for the eco v8...this is why I would wait and not but the first year model...think of the changes made between the 10 model and the 11...two big changes..no more 5.4 option and the torsen front end....hopefully its just and option like the 6.2 was in 2010.....as not to have the price go threw the roof for a type R model.

I'm just hoping by late 2016/early 2017, we'll know if there will be a V8 Eco option. I'm expecting that we'll hear by then and if so, I'm waiting for that option! Keep the 2013 and add to the stable!

If they were planning on this 3.5 eco to produce 500 or more hp, then I'd say no but since multiple sources seem to indicate they may already be working on a 5.0l eco Raptor, it may just happen. A 450hp 'base' Raptor and a 550-600hp 5.0l Eco! That's what I'm sticking with!

The 3.5 Eco in the GT is pushing 600hp so its not out of the realm of possibility for the Raptor.

Yes but I doubt they'd have two versions of the 3.5l eco for the Raptor. I can see them adding a higher output v8 eco though to keep the v8 Raptor crowd happy.

I've yet to see these sources. The only reason it got the 6.2 was because the 5.4 was horribly underpowered.

I highly doubt you'll ever see a factory v8 turbo from ford. V8 turbo defeats the whole sales / marketing ploy for Eco-boost.

The realm of possibility is possible if you have LOTS & LOTS of $$.

When asked what the cost of the GT, Ford replied with what is the most expensive Ford product? Well the GT will more than twice that and beyond.

I do not want a 600hp Raptor. It will require 93 octane and most likely beyond my bank account.

The 3.5 Eco in the GT is pushing 600hp so its not out of the realm of possibility for the Raptor.
