Doh! I've seen repeated heater element failures from people dragging their ass in and out of the seat, rather then lifting themselves in and out. Jeep Grand Cherokee's were bad about it to the point Chrysler redesigned the bottom element pad. Since your tall I doubt you have that problem but just a thought.

they call that the butt drag (BDRAG :naughty:) failure huh? Well i'm actually the opposite I pull myself out of the seat and step right on the side step to avoid wearing the leather if anything else...damnit.

I do that too, but my shit is still getting wrinkled and stuff. That's why I like skinny women -- they don't wear down the seats!

The truck isn't on, right? I know these wont light without the truck running, far as I can remember. Its that way on my F250. and they don't stay on forever, if you forget to turn em off they don't just keep going to 400 degrees..

Mine get plenty hot. I usually turn em off after 2-3 minutes.

IDK my last car felt like the heat kept increasing over a long period until you couldn't keep your butt in the seat. It was pretty awesome! lol

I would be sure to let the dealer know in the problem description that your heated seat due to you dragging your ass, then they can rule that out as cause!

BIRD, I haven't seen too many repeat failures of heated seat elements and it is odd that yours happened this soon after repair. Makes me think that the element may have been wrinkled when installed or the harness portion of the element may have been routed in a manner that it has rubbed on something and possibly shorted. I suppose you could have just got a bad element, but your situation does not seem normal to me.
