It did the same thing too, it's def the seat element...it got hot as a bitch under my thighs and I did think to myself SHIT not this again...sure enough I heard the click a minute later and it shut off.

I concur.. same shit.... hot as a bitch on the highway then died at start of winter.... $285 plus labor at dealer but the 6.2 heats up so quick I haven't bothered... They said when the bottom element goes the back one shuts off.

Correct, when the bottom element is burnt/ shorted the back element does not work.

I know it's a long time ago, BUT!

I saw tour comment about maybe having the heating element for the truck, still got it?

**Warning** Noob question coming. :)

I just bought my 2012 SCREW a few weeks ago and I'm wondering how hot should the seats get normally on the highest setting. When I turn the seat warmer on, it barely seems to get warm at all, although it seems to get just a little warmer (it could be placebo). Since the seats are cooled also, is there an element in the seat or does it just blow warm/hot air similar to how the cooled seats operate?

They are separate systems. The heater is a resistive wire that gets hot when turned on.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Since I don't notice much of a change when I turn on the heater, I'll probably inspect the element to see if it's intact.
