I just put in a AFE Stage 2 CAI and 5 star tune the sound and feel of the truck now is amazing!! I am going to eventually get SW headers and exhaust but til then I was wanting to remove my resonators. I was just worried about too much drone after removing them with the intake, tune anybody have any this done? or make me feel better about doing this haha

Well my 2010 never had a resonator on it and I also have the afe stage 2 and 5star tuner and with it closed no from at all it's perfect even with the cutout open on the highway it's surprisingly quite you should totally get a badlanzz cut out its AWESOME!!!

As far as drone with this setup. I drove all day today with mine open and made sure to test it at 80mph for drone. When I was cruising at 80 I started with the stereo turned all the way off I turned it up one notch at a time until I could just hear it comfortably (just to simulate a quiet conversation). The 4th notch was where I could hear it just fine...which is really quiet. When I have the cutout closed, the truck almost sounds electric by comparison.

And people didn't believe me that there was no drone. Its loud yes but drone no.

When I was shifting it manually off road today the thing sounded like a trophy truck, no lie. It is monstrous sounding when you mash the go pedal to the floor.

Yes it is a little louder than stock if you remove the resonator. Spent this morning playing with it and cruised on 1-15 at all different speeds. There is a little drone now and it is a little louder in the cab. Not bad though. I don't think my wife will notice.

good to know. i am going to be listening for a loud black raptor in Riverton.
I would like to see it in person sometime.

FYI, I emailed Badlanz and asked about swapping the 15' for the 10' cable and he said no problem. Just make a note of it in the comments section when you place the order.

After reading closer, it sounds like you can route it through the floor board though so a 15' may not even be necessary if you go that route.

Anyhow, just wanted to share that you don't have to spend the extra $15. He offered the swap for free...

Well that's good to know glad to see that awesome customer service at work. I wasn't a huge fan of comin up trough the floor board plus I had all the holes filled in on te bottome part of the cab. Let us know how you like it when you get it on. I know I love mine and so does everyone else :peace:

I'm debating the turn down tip now that I've already ordered.

I don't want to start melting shit under there but then the one guy said it's not as loud with the tip.

Maybe I'll come up with some sort of heat shield for the exhaust hanger.

I'm sure I'll love it. Cheaper than a cat back exhaust and better sounding but I can turn it off when I don't want to listen to it. What's not to like?

Now I just need to figure out something with those stock tips that look like crap.
