When I put it in sport it auto flips to 2H... how do I get 4A and sport? Thank you for your help too.
What @Gsteve said, use the rotary knob to flip it to whatever setting you want. 2H and 4A are best used on the street, 4H and 4L are intended for off-road use only. The drive modes set the 4WD position to it's recommended setting but you can choose yourself too based off terrain and what you're trying to do.

My personal favorite is Baja 2H aka party mode

Thx guys. I flipped it back and unleashed a whole new world of fun. Lots of snow in my area but I am having a blast! I just wanna get on it bc I just had a BOV put in and it sounds great!

It works with 4A. 4A+Sport mode will get you the best launch as it's pretty easy to overwhelm KO2's from a dig. It becomes extremely necessary on a tuned truck because I can light mine up very easily unless I do a rolling start.

One short and one long will disable the nannies but remember Baja is designed to push the truck as quickly as possible through corners; going sideways is not quick so Baja mode will produce some grindy/jitteryness at the limit because the truck's computers are working on keeping you on 4 wheels and not your roof.

This is correct, but just to be clear, you don't have to short press then long press. Holding down the TC button (after switching to your mode of choice) will ensure you get the smallest amount of interference possible. It will still kick on from time to time if it thinks you are getting too crazy, but it will be much better than the other options.

As for the Sport 4A discussion, you always want to adjust the TC (heh, transfer case and traction control) settings AFTER switching modes. Since Sport defaults to 2H, you have to choose 4A after switching. If you have a SuperCab or a tuned truck, this is almost mandatory since you can break the tires loose easily in Normal, let alone Sport.

If driving through mountain (asphalt road) while snowing with a few inches on the ground, would 4H be acceptable or would it do damage to the driveterrain?

You'd probably be ok, but this kind of situation is exactly what 4A is for.

FWIW, my daughter once turned on 4H in my wife's 06 Trailblazer and she drove it on hard asphalt 60 miles or so before we figured out the problem, and it has been fine since. Still, 4A shines in this situation. We had a big snow (for Texas) a few weeks back and I ended up using Weather mode all day.

Great post and informative. wish i had read it before i took my truck out to the dunes the first time. To get to our favorite spot to camp about 100 miles from Abu Dhabi we have to take about 20 miles of gas track which is basically one long fricking sand/dirt washboard. Thought to myself perfect i can try out the baja mode.. absolutely hated it!!! i was leading a small group and had to keep speeds down a little bit but having the revs just hold and it felt like it would never get out of third gear. After a bit I gave up with it and just dropped it in to 4h with the tc off, which is basically how i had been running my '14 lifted 6.2 F-150 SCAB and it seemed to work fine.

A couple of weeks ago we took trip to spot new to us and again roughly 25-30 miles of nasty track to get to the camp, right on the beach not far from Saudi border. Beautiful spot btw. My wife is ok with a bit of speed but not so much on those type roads even though a bit of speed smooths out the ride (she still doesnt get it) Second morning of camp the ice was getting a bit low so used as excuse to get back out and have a play on the way. Dropped it back into baja mode and "Holy Crap"!!!! i was pushing 80-90 mph and couldnt feel any of the washboard tooth rattle. Truck felt it was gliding even on the curves and whoops. managed to get airborn, but only just... completely different animal in baja.. my buddy said they should have called it beast mode instead. tried it again with my wife in the truck on the way out of camp the next day.. let me just say she wasnt nearly as impressed as i was, mainly because she couldnt see with her eyes closed and white-knuckling the oh-crap bar.
