Yeah, the coating on the Y pipe flakes off very quickly.

I was wondering if the downturn pipe would fit. Thanks for the pic showing it does.

I cut approximately 1 1/8" off the end of the cut-out.

Doug's Cutout

I installed my cut-out (DEC300A-1) today, it hangs down slightly below the frame (maybe 1/4"). I also installed a ss downturn pipe (DEC300ATD) and sealed the rubber boot with high temp silicone trying to keep water out. I don't understand why the cut-out pipe isn't ss. (sorry for the cell phone pics).

I am wanting to do something similar to Joker's set up except with a stainless Y pipe.

Has anyone tried to use a QTP 10300 3" Stainless Y pipe with a Doug's Cutout DEC300A-1?

Did you ever find a Stainless Y pipe? My cut-out crapped out on me at HAVOC, I had it open going through water (lesson learned). I contacted Pertronix and they wanted the invoice which I didn't have. I contacted the A-hole I purchased it from and got no where. In the end Pertronix came through for me. I had to pay shipping but now it works like new. I spent about an hour trying to remove the RTV I had put on, didn't want them to be: wtf?. This time I just put a zip tie securely around the boot. well see.

I just ordered the setup above from Marylandspeed. I have ideas on how to use the uplifters with 2 - 12VDC variable relay timers but I may or may not proceed since I purchased the wireless interface.

I also purchased some high temp paint to coat everything. Will painting the exhaust with high temp paint prolong its life? It frustrates me that the Y-pipe is not SS.

I'd install a Y-pipe if there was some way of engineering a mechanical linkage to open and close it instead of a motor. And I'd install at least enough exhaust tubing to dump it behind the cab

Wanting to do this pretty bad now. Have Borlas with headers on my Corvette and the wife hates it. This way I can close the cutout when she and the kids are in it. Now that some of you have had it on a while, hows it holding up and what would you do different?
