so did she send you parts of the old style one?

Can you post pics of them?

I may do one up myself. My chassis shop guy is insanely talented, I'm sure if I show him a few pics, he can whip me up something that won't fall apart like the new style ones.

Basically that diagram you posted on page one - she sent me all the parts except the shock - then when she was sending me the shock to go with it, she sent me the new old complete kit - just like before.

Thanks Stu!

I think if I locate a rivnut, and two throttle clip balls that will clip into the appropriate length strut with socket ends, I can relatively easily make my own kit.

I tried this thing and it bound the shock against the tailgate cable against the tailgate plus the ball fastener in the tailgate twisted the metal. It came off in about 5 minutes. Great concept - TERRIBLE engineering.

IF they do get it fixed, I'll be DTF for another one.

Just installed this last night, and the mounting plate shown in this picture broke. The ball mount broke straight off the mounting plate. What is this thing made of aluminum? I've contacted DEEZEE and they said they will send a whole new kit. I'm still a bit skeptical though because I feel it's a design flaw. It looks like the design previous to this was a better design. This new design has less parts than the original kit. I wonder why Ford doesn't make something like this? I'd rather buy it from OEM than an aftermarket kit.

Mine has been on for about 2 months now and no problems. Just got to remember to add some kind of silicone to the shock so it can move smoother

I had the original version for almost a year. I called and asked for the new version and it was at my door two days later. It has been on for about two months and I can say it is a MUCH better design. No issues at all with the new one.
