With the last 4 years of Brandon's EPA I bet you can pull a lot more HP with a tune and a few upgrades.I wish the 3.5 was a straight 6…regardless of HP that is a tip in the RHOs favor. I can’t imagine there is much more tune ability out of that 540 hp 3.0. If the Raptor had the same HP/liter thats 630 HP out of a 3.5…..from the factory…lol
I went from a 2020 Raptor to a 2021 TRX, and you’re correct, the Raptor with the EcoPoop has plenty of power, and the fuel economy is considerably better. My big reason for the change in 2021 was that I got $4,000 more than what I paid for the Raptor, and roughly $6,000 off sticker on the TRX. With the extended warranty on the TRX, it was a little more than a straight across trade.Am I the only one perfectly content with the 3.5 in its current state? Great blend of power and fuel efficiency, with just very few bugs after all the years of development. I don’t need another 50 horsepower or anything like that since I don’t need to drag race from light to light, and don’t want to sacrifice reliability. Same with my PowerStroke, I can’t actually tell the difference between my high output or the standard motor. I want Ford to focus on improving quality without deleting features. But I understand horsepower is what sells.
Thing is, once you start looking under the hood at the way everything is routed ( all the plumbing , where the cats are etc) . Most any repair is cab off . Eff that .I wish the 3.5 was a straight 6…regardless of HP that is a tip in the RHOs favor. I can’t imagine there is much more tune ability out of that 540 hp 3.0. The 24 TRX is more $$$ than the RI went from a 2020 Raptor to a 2021 TRX, and you’re correct, the Raptor with the EcoPoop has plenty of power, and the fuel economy is considerably better. The 3.5 in the Raptor in my experience was a great motor. It’s also lighter, more nimble, and the fox shocks are a better off road setup. I also wouldn’t trust the new Hurricane motor in the RHO, they are having a lot of issues already. It might be a pinch faster in a drag race, but I bet it’s faster to the local service department when shit starts to break.
Right now if I was in the market for a new truck, the 3.5 on 37’s would be high on the list, or a 2024 TRX that’s been discounted. The Raptor R is out of my price range, and again I don’t trust the engine in the RHO.
MSRP but not actual purchase price. They are far apart and the R is much higher. Not to be that guy but a quick search on your favorite vehicle purchasing website will show you thatThe 24 TRX is more $$$ than the R
TRX sticker is 10k over the R. That's the high end of average ADM on the R's now...MSRP but not actual purchase price. They are far apart and the R is much higher. Not to be that guy but a quick search on your favorite vehicle purchasing website will show you that
While I'm in the market for an R, I look forward to whatever Ford comes up with for the Gen 4 F-150 Raptor. It's currently beat out by the RHO, tuned Ranger, and likely tuned Bronco in the powertrain department.
It’s funny you say that because brokers in Texas and Vegas over the past week are offering me $14-15k over sticker for my 6 month old 24 R. So all the fear mongering about prices falling off a cliff are still fake news. Sure, prices have came down from $140-150k but that was to be expected.TRX sticker is 10k over the R.
