No regrets on the R. Every time I fire it up I chuckle that someone actually let them build these things. Just get used to driving around at 10-20% throttle - hard to find situations where I can actually go 100% without looking like an idiot and/or doubling speed limits… but I like knowing it’s there just in case .

id say if you wanted one all this time, you've already waited too long if the means are available..

maybe one or two people the nearly 60K members might try to talk you out of it.. why are you asking a raptor enthusiast forum if you should buy the top tier/alpha top dog raptor.. the best that has ever been??

are they a lot of money? yes.
are they worth the price? probably
is it going to get used/possibly lose some value from off road or other use? prob/maybe (case by case)
is it collectable? only if they stop making them/ICE engines

what else?

its the best raptor ever made, and if youve been waiting to get a new truck since 2014 because of the V8, i have to say you have been missing out for awhile...
The new Raptor here ( Arizona ) are $ 119000.00 plus another $ 75000.00 due to the limited amount of Raptors available . Such a deal. But the sales person that the later price could be negotiable . Also the new Raptor comes with 750 hp and has 35 “ tires on it. Now is the time to buy !

I had a 14,17 and a 22 37. Loved my 37 and the eco motor was fine. I wasn’t off roading and not drag racing anyone in a giant truck. It’s a daily driver and I bought it for the looks and the performance. I also need the comfort of the big crew cab. That said, the new 2024 R is the same body and has the 37 performance setup. Wasn’t sure I wanted to spend an extra 30-60k for a motor. Then I drove one….. Being a “car guy” there’s no replacement for a killer sounding high horse V8. I negotiated a deal “down” to 10k markup. My decision was tied to a year end financial benefit as this truck qualifies for section 179 bonus depreciation. Of course most of this is emotional. Shelter Green with those orange graphics. I now wanted it. So yes, best one I have owned and I’ve owned them all. No regrets.

Obviously, we are a bunch of Raptor enablers here, you'll not find many that will discourage you.

If you were a buddy and we were talking about this, I'd ask if buying this would negatively affect your overall financial situation. Some folks write a check for a $100k plus vehicle, and that has minimal effect on their bank balance. Probably a section 179 write-off to boot (as was mine) and I say why not? Not asking for a balance sheet, but if you have worked hard and have the money and support of your spouse, buy it!

I occasionally drive by an old beat-up single wide and the guy has a new Superduty out front, lifted, big wheels, big stereo, and there his family lives in squander. One bad decision after another. Same question, he would get a different answer.

The didn’t make Raptors in 2015. Maybe you meant 2014

I got my R in May, had a 2013 for 7 years, put nearly 100k miles on it. It was a great daily driver and true truck, throw shit in the bed, don't worry about it, pretty fast and I set it up pretty well so it was quite capable.

The R is an incredible machine, goes fast, feels fast and is a beast to drive. Responsive as what I expect a GT500 would be in Sport or Baja mode, sounds incredible and looks equally as good.

Is it capable? Sure.... But do I want to jump it, (well I want to), but do I want to load gravel in a $150k cream puff, not sure about that yet. Maybe ask me after 10k miles. It is fun to drive it and it makes you smile every time you fire it up. I know everyone has them, but for me I don't understand the allure of a V6 truck, and never will.
