Secondly, the tuning on these trucks is no joke. This isn't a Corvette that you can plug HPTuners into (yet) and just go to town, or is it a Mustang that you can just flash over some "cookie cutter" one-size-fits-all file. Originally we transplanted the original TT Raptor tune to Danny's truck, and it wasn't even close. To make matters worse this isn't a platform that can be easily tuned (thanks Ford!). Something to the tune of 19 different throttle/tq maps. I tune.....A LOT....and I can't tune these (yet). Our local Ford guru tuner who did the original tune and understands the software didn't preform what I would consider an "acceptable" tune. There was part throttle surging issues. So if we can't give out a cookie cutter tune, and not many people are going to truly be capable of tuning these, what would you do for a tune? Releasing the kit like this and expecting customers to "find your own tuner", would inevitably end up with the same result; an unhappy customer. A customer with our product, that no matter who's to fault, would be unhappy and wish in hind-site they went a different direction. This is not and acceptable standard.

I thought HPTuners just released some stuff for the Fords. Doubt they tackled the 6.2 since it is only in Raptors but I doubt it will be too far off. I love my HPTuners to log and play on my CTS-V.

Also I was wondering if Clint and the boys at True Street were able to come up with a decent tune? I hate the idea of Canned tunes but I know they are big in the Ford community. As for a local option for the tuning on this kit, are there any more around Dallas that you guys would think about sending TMX to? I know 21st Century Muscle Cars in Addison has installed a couple of Whipple's and seems to have a decent handle on the tuning side of Raptors. What about Gearheads over in Arlington? I know they have handled the GT500 crowd well? I just know there has to be a good answer for these trucks.

I can't wait for this kit to be ironed out. I would like to be put on the list for this kit when it is all said and done.

HPT has released some for the newer Fords, but not the 6.2L yet. I have it on good authority that they're working on it and will be releasing it soon. This will give more people access, but not necessarily the ability. These trucks aren't as simple as a VE map and MAF Trans table that we're used to with HPT (I love my HPT as well). It's more like "how much torque would you like to request?"

We didn't end up using Clint, we choose a different tuner. And yes, he was able to come up with a really good tune for it. As Danny says himself, "Coming out of the corners when the boost hits, there's nothing else like it!" I'm sure there may be other tuners in the Dallas area, but we've found one there already. It's finding decent tuners across the country that will make the biggest difference (Or one REALLY good tuner who's good at remote tuning). And turbos are generally a much harder setup to tune that PD blowers. Because the boost is so variable per RPM, depending on load and what RPM you start.

One more question, why did you guys jump up to FIC 1000's? I can't imagine you would need more fuel than what say an ID 850 can give you if you guys are only looking for 600-700 rwhp? I mean nobody would want to run E85 in these trucks right, and wouldn't need that extra fuel?

Thanks guys, this project sounds awesome and I can't wait till you guys are done.

Jon Lund (Lund Tuning), Cody Cutforth (Stang-Hi Performance), VMP Tuning all would be people I would talk to about tuning in different parts of the country. Might be worth knocking on their door and seeing if they have experience with boosted Raptors. I know Cody has experience with supercharged Raptors, GT500's, and Mustangs.

E85 is on the horizon. It can currently run C12 as well. We are already working with Lund and he has tuned one of our TT Raptors. We will continue to work with him and our other tuner, HPP Racing, to develop the tune.

HPP tuned a handful of my buddies 03 Cobras from Baylor. They have nothing but great things to say about the guys there. This kit is going to be insane...can't wait to see the final product!

Oh good lord, good luck with that. Let me know when that sucker blows up or if they ever actually deliver anything. I know THREE people with bad experiences with them in the local racing community, one who paid them an extreme amount of money to twin turbo his Firebird, they had it for a year and a half and delivered it with a shit tune. If they can't tune an LS motor, they can't tune anything, as that crap is the easiest.

:(

LOL, two different stories, both second hand. Oh well we are probably both wrong and right.

So E85 ran in this thing, my question is if you are running in the middle of nowhere, why would you want just E85? The availability sucks, and with the higher fuel consumption you would have to carry a crap ton of extra (I am thinking TRR). You guys thinking of doing a flexfuel setup and can the raptor stock gadgetry measure the alcohol in the fuel and adapt on the fly?
