Only 1 tuner in the country that can provide a decent tune for this application? There are plenty of decent tuners in the us that could probably tackle this, just takes time and money.

I'll buy the Roush equipment if it helps and its a fair price! Let me know.

Sorry, I have been on the fence for taking apart my truck to change things, so I broke down and traded it in on a 14 SE screw. It needs a power added now! Come on UPP! :)

Any news on this kit? I have a brand new 14 SE Crew wanting a Twin Turbo kit. I am still willing to donate to the cause. I have yet to hear from anyone who has driven a Turbo Raptor and can talk about drivability etc.

I am not worried about the dust, it seems like there are plenty of turbo diesels running around chasing baja, and plenty more ecoboosts that get off road.

Any update TMX or UPP?

So far we've only found one..... And we even tried one of the tried and true "Raptor Tuning Guru's" and all the same result. Fluctuating (surging) throttle.

YES!!! I fly out on the 31st to get a truck from Canada! I'll be driving it back here, and we're going to start on the install shortly thereafter. And we officially have full access to these ECU's via HPTuners, so we will be going over the tuning in-house to dial this thing in. Myself, Manny from TX, and Rob from RWR. Between the 3 of us we should be able to come up with a really good tuning solution that we can implement with this kit.

Any comment on the rumour TMX is pulling out ?
Because of catastofic problems during testing ?

Still hope you will create the finished product. And challange hellion, whipple and roush.

waiting on this kit

maybe implement a system that actuates the WGDC depending on the % of throttle?

seems the only way to tackle something like this is to actually modify the way the ecu calculates load and fuel.

tephra did this for the evo community and changed the world

hope you guys work out this tuning issue. good luck

I've been contemplating the best way to address this without throwing anyone under the bus or airing out dirty laundry. The main reason TMX and us are not working together on this anymore is the person that was with TMX that we were dealing directly with (and whom owned the Raptor we were using) is no longer with TMX.

I wouldn't quite call anything a catastrophic problem. Yes, there were some issues, and we've taken the time to address those. The biggest problem that was seen with Danny's truck (the fire) wasn't even quite attributable to the TT kit. At some point installing the long tube headers (before UPP) the dipstick tube was broken, and never replaced. We addressed this with Danny when he picked up the truck, but in a rush for the race the following weekend, it was never replaced. During the race the added crank case pressure blew oil out of the break in the dipstick tube and onto the hot manifolds. This is what caused the fire. This can be seen with the heat signatures we saw and the hottest place being the melted dipstick tube. Overall though, Danny was able to act fast and prevent any real damage. The wiring harness was burned a bit, but I was able to repair the majority of that (and fire up the truck) in the short time when I came to TX to assess the damage.

Because of this we are going to be ceramic coating the exhaust piping (inside and out) which should lower the overall temperatures under the hood. We've also incorporated a heat shield for the brake reservoir.

Currently the only thing really holding us up is the tune. However we have partnered up with one of the regions best ford tuners to develop a good base tune for these to use as a starting point. Right now we have a F250 6.2L in the shop for this very reason, which we are working on. We are also working with HPTuners testing out their beta software for the new copperhead ECU's (Raptor, 5.0) to come up with the best overall solution. Once we create the base tune for these we can include it with the kit, along with remote tuning support from our tuner for final changes once in the field.
