Ill take one Nissan GTR grocery getter please.

Why don't you vote with your wallet and buy one?

By the way, have you ordered your Raptor yet?

@Truckzor or is it tricksore

That's been my handle on almost every forum I belong to for at least 11 or 12 years. Look at my join date here, not my post count and you'll probably get your answer if you can do some simple deduction.

Seems like a few people have posted what is known and have posted several examples to questions you asked, you just don't like the answers.

Very few are arguing that they wouldn't want a V8TT over a V6TT, for those that are I'm sure they have their reasons and that should be good enough for anyone on here. But the argument is for what is known, and that is it will the stock for stock V6TT be better than the existing 6.2L, the answer is yes.

And don't give me any "no one knows the specs" bs. Do you really think Ford is going to release something inferior to their previous model, especially since FP is involved now?

But hey, good luck with your build, it looks like it's going to be awesome when it's done.

Tricksore? You mad bro?

Nobody successfully explained how a V6 is more efficient than a V8. They just compared apples to oranges, like you are doing :)

Most of these dumb NEWBS don't even know the difference between a straight six and a V6. And they think their cars have V4s. You can't fix stupid. Since you are such an old timer, it's weird that you feel the need to argue for them on behalf of a truck you don't even own. Weird.

How about everyone stops this stupid back and forth bs? Both sides are responsible for perpetuating it and it would benefit everyone if it would stop. First of all, I have not seen ANY official numbers from Ford. Nor have I seen a heads up comparison between the two trucks. Any discussion like this prior to those two things is pointless bench racing of which neither side will agree to anything.

@Truckzor what truck don't I own? A 2017 Raptor, not yet, I will when it's delivered.

Sold my Gen 1 about 3 weeks ago. Loved it, but the new truck is better in every way, so why wouldn't I want one? Hopefully FP doesn't pull a fast one on us and offer a V8TT shortly after, but hey look at the transmission swap they did with the 350s. Now, I haven't had any issues with mine, but yeah I would've preferred having the additional coolers. Who wouldn't? Hopefully the make a reasonable fix to it that won't cost an arm and a leg.

But that swap is a far cry from a V8TT swap. I guess we will all see soon enough

Then what's your point?

Hey, btw, I know you got rid of your '86 IROC, but did you get rid of the gold neck chain and wife beater you used to wear while you drove it?

:)

I mean really. Now I've seen it all. Dude had an '86 IROC and thinks it makes his opinion about Raptors worth something. lol

Bizarro world. That's where you belong :)

I had an 88' IROC and 87' Fiero....loved those cars!....and I still have the gold chain. I only wear it when I have Tom Jones blaring from my Street King Raptor and it's so loud I can't hear my 6.2 rumbling.

Birdman or Kaiser please close this thread....

I owned a 86 Iroc, sounded awesome but definitely not a performance vehicle. Grand National and other turbo vehicle ruled the streets at that time. I got my ass kicked by a Conquest. I learned pretty fast that displacement means nothing in performance. I just want my vehicle to kick ass when I need it to.

The GEN1 was the best during its short time, and set a new standard. However because of the GEN1s, manufactures are building better off road pick-ups. Ford with the GEN2 has set this bar high and it will be a few years before any other pick-up manufacturer can say they have a competitor.

Unlike the GEN1, Ford did not just build and sell the GEN2. They could have and people would have still bought it. They actually invested lots of time and money to produce a vehicle that can actually do what people want it to do. I know I’m going to break some hearts, but SVT only built niche or novelty vehicles. They were fast and looked good but are not really true race quality performers. At the time Ford Racing was tasked with building true performance vehicles. Ford combined SVT and Ford Racing and created Ford Performance, then got to work to build the GEN2 and GT, true street and race vehicles. This is backed by the fact that ford put them into the Le Mans and Best in The Desert series (BTW, the GEN2 finished 95th out of about 350 race only contestants and only about 125 vehicle finished the race).

Yes, I probably did overpay for the GEN2 because I don’t want to wait, but I don’t care. I pay MSRP for most things all the time, no biggy. Also, when the next better pick-up comes along, I’ll buy that, and I don’t care if it’s a hybrid or full quite electric. As long as it will kick ass when I need it to.

Are you seriously trying to imply that the GEN1 is a poser mobile that was just slapped together by a team of rogue amateur engineers...

Was that a yes or a no? We've had a lot of trolls with "350s" around here. Kind of hard to tell who is who sometimes, especially with all the name changes and new handles.

Nobody else posted any facts, by the way. The simple answer to my question: there IS one thing the V6 is better than the V8 at. Due to its short length, it's an efficient layout for putting a relatively large engine in front engine front drive passenger cars. Yep. Grocery getters :)

V6s have inherently lower parasitic engine losses than V8s due to lower cumulative surface area across the piston seals, and therefore turbocharged V6s will generally consume less gas when off-boost at low engine outputs than just about any equivalent output V8. Not that I expect you to change your mind, but that's why most auto manufacturers are shifting to turbocharged V6s and I4s.
