I love how the ones saying they wish the conversation would die are the exact ones continuing with rhetoric.
I said I wished the conversation would die. I didn't say I wasn't going to keep responding when dumb newbs posted dumb stuff
I dont know how many people who have ordered Gen 2's had Gen 1's like me, but as much as I loved my Gen 1 I knew it was time to sell it. I got almost what I paid for it. I really dont think that will be the case when the new ones come out.
Part of why Raptors have held their value so well is not just because it is a bad ass truck, but because there is still a huge market for them over in the UAE. Just check instagram and you'll see all those guys are gravitating towards Gen 2's. That means auction prices will start to drop because they want the new new. Big dealers here know if they dont sell it locally, they can drop it at auction or to a broker that will export over there. That will end when the 17 launches because they will be selling their new ones at a markup to those same brokers.
That's a nice theory. I've heard a lot of theories. But most said the prices would drop a long time ago. Doesn't matter to me at all, though. Resale values ranks even lower on my importance scale than fuel economy in a 3 ton off road performance truck. I already made the decision that mine is a keeper. I hope to park a Gen 2 next to it at some point, though.
And Ford had other options for the GT ready to go. The V6 was a strategic decision and they have been kicking ass with it. Over 6000 "enthusiasts" applied to purchase one, maybe if it would have had a V8 it would've been 7000.
Probably more but who knows. For the ultra wealthy, exclusivity is very valuable.
And shit, they are piping engine noises into my 350 too. Standard practice for most manufacturers these days...who cares, pull the fuse.
The difference being the sound you are left with. And it's a big difference.

Hmmm....
My E46 M3 V6 sounds amazing and kicks ass... My wifes supercharged v6 in her SQ5 kicks ass... Guess these arent enthusiast vehicles because no one would ever put a V6 in one?
Please.....
That being said I do DD a 6.1 V8 Jeep SRT8.... I do love a V8 but will be getting rid of it for a 2017 Raptor.
I really dont get all the Gen2 hate... If you don't like it stop reading about it.

Seriously go troll somewhere else.
M3 is an inline 6, dipstick
And I didn't say "no one ever". I said they are very rare. Can you read?
And no, I don't think an SQ5 is a performance vehicle or an ethusiast vehicle. It's a gussied up grocery getter.

Got to love all the Gen 1 owner comments about the so called "NEWBs."
You idiots think you have a monopoly on automotive knowledge and experience since 2010?
Absolutely flipping hilarious!
Obama must have been giving away Gen 1 Raptors since 2010, because there is a very vocal minority of Gen 1 owners on here who don't come off as being intelligent enough to scrape together the scratch required to buy this vehicle.
OUT.
You mad bro?
