You mean the two niche cars that were discontinued? :)

LOL there are plenty of good vehicles in the "enthusiast" niche that you were addressing that have been discontinued because they didn't sell well. But lets play that game. The 300ZX has a direct spiritual successor that has been on sale for quite a while in the US (350Z / 370Z). Honda is bringing back the NSX, which will again have a V6 (and um... some electric).

Hey remember that time you talked about how those "niche" cars were discontinued and you failed to mention that the one that you were driving... the 'Murica car... was discontinued AND the division of the company that produced it shit the bed and was canned?

Meh. We could go back and forth on this all day. Bottom line - the V6 just isn't a common choice for vehicles aimed at enthusuasts.

And that's because it sucks.

You know nothing about this new motor and how it performs just like everyone else so I think everyone should just **** until we have actual data to bitch about.

I'm all for you people shutting the **** up about it. I generally stay silent until some dipstick newb says something stupid about the Gen 1.

Btw, have you ordered your truck yet?

Your right. American auto manufacturers would never choose a V6 for performance vehicle aimed at enthusiasts. Certainly not such notable vehicles as the GMC Syclone/Typhoon or the Buick Grand National/GNX or most notably the 2017 Ford GT.

You realize how flawed your bias is?

There once was a time when a V16 was the performance engine of choice until it was discovered that you could make the same power with a V8 and it was less weight and more efficient. The same is true with a V6. It can make more power and be more efficient. Embrace the future.

Digging back a few decades for some more discontinued niche vehicles? :)

The GT got a V6 for Le Mans class rules.

Ford announced publicly very recently that they are in no way done with V8s in trucks or Mustangs. And there's probably never been more manufacturers producing V8s and up than there are today :)

Technology is great. But the V6 has always sucked.

All performance vehicles are niche vehicles. You keep saying the V6 has alway sucked but every vehicle that has been mentioned was a force to contend with. I'm not downplaying V8s. They are great but that doesn't mean that the alternative is not a valid option. As far as discontinued models, many cars get discontinued even V8s. Look at the Lightning. Does that mean it wasn't good? No. Your argument is unfounded. You have not provided a single example of why the V6 sucks and V8s are irreplaceable. You need to understand that a good V6 is the future. V8s will still be around for a while. The Ecoboost helps improve the fleet numbers for CAFE standards. Without it performance engines, especially V8s would be gone forever.
