Some will think this is peculiar, but I think that turbos are old tech. They've been around for a long time. And if Mr. Occam was right and the best answer is the simple answer, then turbos ain't it.
How about some new tech on the future Raptor? I'm thinking a ceramic engine block with direct injection, and an engine management system that has several maps that can be selected by the driver from the cab while rolling.
As for aluminum body metal, anybody who has worked with aluminum knows that it can't be worked like steel. Only very minor dings without creases will be repairable. The default with an aluminum body will be to replace the body metal rather than to repair it, and it'll cost more than a repair when the damage is minor.
I do understand what you are saying
But itfeels like turbo's are just un-american
V8s and Blowers is American
Loking at F1, a prodomantly europe asian motor sport
Turbos are now there as well
Mostly due to thinking of the environment .
It sucks cause i mis the sound of 19.000rpm V10shortstrokes
We need to move on. Holding progression because of emotions ...sucks
I think with the newest line of technology
You can have a 20+MPG 700+Horses displacement ondemand V8 150.000+miles twin turbo hybrid beast
EASILY!
Its just that we need to see beyond our emotions
I would stand at the front of the line of a raptor in 2015 would have an engine like that bw
