Don't get me wrong. I think this is awesome if it ends up being true, but am I the only one that still would like to see a 6.2l NA pushing that much or more power without forced induction? I personally appreciate the simplicity. Plus, the Raptor R and now extinct XT already managed that. Add direct injection etc. and a few more modern touches including maybe start/stop and cylinder deactivation and the 6.2l stays a feasible platform. Plus, a lot of the changes would help the super duty as well.

My current plan is on hold onto my '11 and send it to Livernois at some point.

I agree with you, would rather have a more up to date version of the n/a 6.2L, but if ford is dead set on an ecoboost in everything they make then I'd rather have an ecoboost 6.2 than a ecoboost 5.0

5.0L ecoboost would be just fine for me. 500HP stock is very realistic and based on current tuning on the 3.5L ecoboosts, another 75-100HP on the 5.0 is about what I'd expect with a tune.

I agree, the nice stout 6.2 would be amazing . But for Ford to not remake the Raptor as some people are saying i totally disagree with . There is not another truck in the market today that it can be compared with . Ford right now has the market with this truck and just needs to keep listening to the customers on what they want and they will keep selling out at every dealer like they are now. A v6 Eco with a tune right now is gaining 90-100hp very easily. I have seen upgraded turbos and more make 600hp on dyno. Thats almost double of factory rating . People are spending $10k plus on Roush and Whipples, why wouldn't they spend the same amount of money upgrading a 5.0 Eco? And IMO I think you could easily see 700hp out of that with upgrades if not more. Ill tell you this, new Raptor with new motor and upgrades on interior ect, and the wifes CTS-V will be gone for another bad A$$ truck !

I'll tell you another direction a gen 2 Raptor is going and that is price as in way up. SRT did it to us on the Jeep. First gen was badass and reasonably priced. SRT knew they had the market so when the 2nd gen came out, BAM, the price was $65K plus. Their argument is where else are you going to get this package for anywhere under $100K? Equal AMG, BMW, & Porsche performance SUVs are all above that. People said no one would buy a Jeep close to $70K but of course they are. With the Raptor you don't even have a true competitor factory stock. We're now in a world with $75K Camaros (Z28) and I expect the Raptor to get up there.

Exactly my thoughts. I bet base price is north of $55k easy. Instead of picking one up with options for 50-55k it will be $60k on average if not more. Your talking roush raptor power numbers so I expect roush raptor prices

Ford is for sure continuing the raptor. The owner of the dealership I bought from (Team Ford in Vegas) is a well-known offroad racer and is involved with designing the raptors. He told me it's a for sure, that they basically have a new franchise with the raptor and to expect it just to get better and better.

I too would prefer a n/a motor. And I also kind of hope they increase the price, make them better out of the factory, and limit production.
