History won't be kind to you I don't think. Reminds me of the people telling me there wouldn't be a Raptor after the 2014. I just laughed and waited.

Fwiw, I'm not claiming the Raptor badging won't spread to other vehicles. No one outside of Ford executive leadership knows the answer to that. My $0.02 are that it will remain F150 only in the US (I don't see the Ranger Raptor making its way here, but I won't lengthen this post with my reasons why I believe that).

I'm simply offering that making a broad statement about the proliferation of the Raptor badge is unequivocally incorrect. There are simply zero facts to back it up.

But then again, I would expect as much from a large hairy beast roaming the wilderness.

Cars.com shows 4100 gen 2's for sale in US that is 266 million dollars in inventory sitting. Only 850 Gen 1's. I know two , gen2 been sitting at local dealership for months now. I see Raptors in Ford commercials recently , they never did that before , have to advertise their flagship halo truck.

Comparing new trucks to used trucks is ******* retarded. Looking at used only

2018 - 377 for sale
2017 - 413
2014 - 301
2013 - 257

Since there have been well over 50k Gen2s made and only a few hundred are back on the market, it seems most EcoBoost owners are quite satisfied with their purchase.

Proliferation: a large number of something, a rapid increase in numbers, or rapid reproduction of a cell, part, or organism.

With the Ranger Raptor, Ford effectively doubled the reach of the Raptor. Even F150 Raptor numbers are at a all time high. I forget what the Gen 1 build numbers are, but each year Ford makes 1k-2k more than they did the previous year. So yeah, facts actually support the claim that the badge is being proliferated. In the nuclear industry, we use the words proliferation and spread almost synonymous, which further agrees with the claim the Raptor badge is being proliferated.

Do I know for sure Ranger Raptor will release in the US? No...they may wait a while, or they may never do it. I suspect if they don't bring the Ranger Raptor here, they'll Raptorize a Bronco. But they said they had no plans on bringing the Bronco back, and here we are.

In 2017 25% of F150s came with the V8. There is a very measurable portion of buyers that will only buy a full size truck with a V8, actual performance be damned. Ford knows this so I wouldn't be so sure about the death of V8 in the F150. I could see it being removed as an option for the lower tier trucks though.

Ford sold more V6 pickup trucks than all the other brands V8s combined. I don't think Ford is too worried about the public accepting V6s in their pickup trucks.

I think we're just gonna disagree on this one. Including the definition of proliferation furthers my point. You can claim Ford doubled the Raptor badging numbers, but going from 1 to 2 doesn't exactly qualify as a "rapid increase in numbers". But I don't care to go down the semantics rabbit hole.

And Ford also didn't double the Raptor badging in a single region. You may point out that the Raptor badge is currently in two vehicles, however if you look at the global scope, the Raptor badge is Ford's global performance pickup truck trim. This is, of course, debatable... But that has been my perception and why I feel the US won't see a Ranger Raptor.

Also, never once did I make any claims on production volume. Production volume and badging are two completely separate points. Yes, Raptor builds are seemingly at an all time high and volume proliferation is certainly a more viable discussion; But the badge count in the US remains the same: 1. And world wide I don't believe there is a single market with more than one Raptor badged vehicle available.

But if you go back to my original question, I asked for proof of badge proliferation in the US, because claims were made about other US models receiving the Raptor trim. That assertion was suddenly dropped, and now we're talking globally. So in summary, to date there is zero evidence of US Raptor badging proliferation.

I dunno I feel like the Bronco is an iconic vehicle in the Ford line up that they won’t need to “Raptor” it. But you never know

The V8 would not be offered if there wasn't a sector of the market Ford was expecting to capture by continuing to offer it. Or did I miss the part where Ford removed the V8 as an option for 2019 because they were so sure everyone would buy a V6 instead?

Pure speculation on my part, I think Ford is more likely to drop the V8 for all F-150s than it is to add a V8 to the Raptor.
