We are in good shape because Ford addressed the gen1 3.5EB shortcomings in the gen2. Right ‘squetch?

Since Ford is moving forward with making the raptor name a "package", it seems reasonable to assume that the buyer can spec the base vehicle package they want. With that said, the buyer can opt for a V6 or a V8.

Assumptions based on zero evidence is closer to wishful thinking than anything reasonable.

Ford has the ranger with the "raptor" package. The bronco is scheduled to get the "raptor" package. The f150 has a "raptor" package. With all of these raptor packs, Ford will be using that as a selling point for a few different option trim levels. Doing that allows the customer to choose engines. That is a win win for Ford and the customer. It will be great.

More detailed speculation doesn’t change that its baseless speculation.

No one can confirm until there's confirmation. There were a lot of rumors at the beginning of the year that a 2019 or mid 2019 model would have that as an option, those rumors have died down almost completely at this stage and I haven't read/seen any new ones pop up about a potential V8 for 2020. Most of what you read these days regarding the 7.0 V8 are largely jokes.
I think putting the Raptor engine in the F-150 Limited is pretty telling. Eventually, they'll kill the 5.0 and have only Ecoboost engines in everything but the big trucks.

The only people saying a V8 was coming was horsepowerkings/speedtwitch, and they started saying it would happen with the 18s. They just push it back a year every time they are wrong.

:bs:No it's not. The Bronco has not even been officially announced yet alone a Raptor version. The US is not currently and probably will never get the Ranger Raptor. Nor will Ford ever put a V8 back into the Raptor. You can fall for clickbait blog crap all you want reality is the ecoboost is here to stay. They didn't even put a V8 back in the Ford GT.

I feel like an outcast here, when I heard they were putting an ecoboost in the raptor I wanted one more then ever. But that’s just the nerd/engineer side of me geeking out. The next motor for the raptor with be a.... updated ecoboost
