Greg, sounds like wrapping the knobs with a little electrical tape might be a good idea. I'm not sure but just thinking like Macgyver for a simple fix.

Now is a little too late...

I am going to do what obi won kankary does and remove the lower knobs..

The good thing about Fox and Icon is that one pushes the other the make the best and most reliable product available.

This is, IMO, how competition should work. So we as consumers are the winners...

Electrical tape may actually hold in moister / salt so I would go with regular cleaning and a corrosion inhibitor like corrosion block (west marine) or fluid film. I have used corrosion block 2 times a month in the winter with good results. This type of problem with the adj knobs is common in the sports car world with after market high dollar shocks as well.

Yes. And we all know that more guinea pigs are needed to build data for this study. Knob condoms anyone?

OP should contact the guy at ICON and offer to do harsh winter climate testing in exchange for free shocks. After all, the earlier guineas here apparenty got them free or very heavily discounted in exchange for their testimonials. While you're asking - I bet some amazing deals are occurring for bumpstop install threads too lol. :pepper:

Man there's some silliness involved with this subject.
Maybe I'll just rebuild the stockers or wait to see which goes on sale first...
Depressing that there's not more objective opinions out there.

I have not noticed any difference with my Icon shocks whether it was -35 or +35
I have noticed that Icon sells a rebuild kit and a high temperature rebuild kit which I assume is for more extreme use?

This was done after the problem showed up at the Spring 13.. I talked to them and they know about it. One solution is a allen inside the knob to be able to use the wrench or the finger knob. What I have now is petroleum grease around the top of the knob so it can be wiped off, knob turned and reapplied.

Another good point....There is nothing wrong with the stockers...

That would have been my question...why should I upgrade the stock shocks in the first place?
