This "sounds" like a smart idea. I'd hate to install something like this and have a drone that drives me nuts. I'm a musician and have pretty sensitive hearing.

On another note (boy the puns just keep comin') I have an AFE stage 2 CAi and a 93 performance 5 star custom tune. Would this set-up affect either one of those mods? I don't want to have to get the tunes re-done, if I don't have to.

Lastly, when that cut out is closed, does it it sound the same as it did before the cut out was installed? Is it louder? It's hard to tell with the videos. I'm assuming the idea is that you get the sound when you want it, and shut it when you want to keep a lower profile.

Let me know what you guys think...Thanks.

It sounds like i will do this also. but why dosent everyone use the one of the 4 aux switchs? i dont undersatnd why you wouldnt use them? maybe im missing something.

The cutout needs a springloaded double rocker switch. like a window switch on-off-on. One on to open and the other tells it to go a different direction. The aux switches are simply on-off. They will just burn up the motor. You can use 2 aux switches with some relays and some fancy work. But most decide its not worth using 2 switches for, especially when they supply you 1 rocker switch.

And it doubles the price of the mod...

QTP has a module that works with the stock switches but you have to use their cutout. I removed mine for one it leaked it was the QTP and I went to a true duel exhaust.

Does it lose performance... Well haven't been on a dyno but i would say no.

I had a chance to see the effects of cutouts on the dyno results for a 2007 Charger Daytona.

I don't recall the specific numbers but:
Cutouts closed: slightly higher torque (about 5 lb-ft) than open
Cutouts open: slightly higer horsepower (about 5 hp) than closed

I bought the same kit as GsxrRaptor, and I'll be able to comment on how the install went next week hopefully. I can't wait!
