OK got the Cutout installed!

Wired and installed the provided switch last night, and had the exhaust shop weld the bracket for the cut out in place. I made the gasket and bolted the cutout on.

AND HOLY POOP!!!!! THIS IS HOW IT SOUND HAVE SOUNDED FROM THE FACTORY!!!!

I am going to waste so much fuel, romping the pedal!

I will have the wife help me make a video, and will post it soon.

Damn, I love this truck.

2010 Ford SVT Raptor with DMH exhaust Cutout! with start up and drive by - YouTube

Read some comments on this.. does it really make you lose performance? Could you hook-up the bypass to one of the aux switches? Is it bad to have it open all the time?

Does it lose performance... Well haven't been on a dyno but i would say no. The reason they say you could is due to back pressure but with the cats and the manifolds still there plus it coming to a Y-pipe before the cutout should makes more than enough back pressure.

For using one of the aux switches you could do it a couple ways one getting a switch from QTP and wire it into your switch. Another is using a couple switches and a relay. Due to the 3 seconds to close or open just use the switch it came with or buy another small switch ON-OFF-ON with it spring loaded to OFF. Its just like a window switch.

Need to make a better one due to the GF didn't know you have to hold the switch to fully open or close. Otherwise just like i said before its a window switch concept.

Oh dear God, this cutout is so much fun. Was giggling most of the weekend everywhere I drove. The whole time I'm thinking "I'm so freaking immature to be enjoying this!"

My boys think I'm soooo cool though. Haaahaahaaha.

I didn't have anything to do Friday with it raining all morning so I just ended up doing it myself. I was just a little worried about welding that thin stuff as I usually just end up poking holes everywhere but it turned out fine.:waytogo:

One more note about the cutout...

I had the resonator removed and the DMH Y-Pipe was a near perfect fit. The installer simply cut two small 2" pieces of 3" pipe, cut them through the side to "sleeve" them around the OEM pipe and DMH Y-Pipe, then welded in place.

With the DMH cutout closed and even when running open... I have absolutely NO drone!

I've read reports about drone with a resonator delete and even with installation of other aftermarket exhausts... I wonder if some of these people actually know what drone is? True "Drone" is a harmonic wavelength of sound that most people find uncomfortable to listen to... do NOT confuse this with simple increase in decible auditory loudness.

My truck is loud as hell now with the cutout wide open, but I have NO drone. :)

This "sounds" like a smart idea. I'd hate to install something like this and have a drone that drives me nuts. I'm a musician and have pretty sensitive hearing.

On another note (boy the puns just keep comin') I have an AFE stage 2 CAi and a 93 performance 5 star custom tune. Would this set-up affect either one of those mods? I don't want to have to get the tunes re-done, if I don't have to.

Lastly, when that cut out is closed, does it it sound the same as it did before the cut out was installed? Is it louder? It's hard to tell with the videos. I'm assuming the idea is that you get the sound when you want it, and shut it when you want to keep a lower profile.

Let me know what you guys think...Thanks.
