Sorry to hear but glad u found the culprit! BILL LIVEWIRE, lol. I had to leave my HID's lit throughout my retro at least 5 hours at a time and 10 hours throughout 2days, never had an issue.

My dealer mentioned to me that even if I were to install a tune, Ford can now retrieve that info even after the factory settings/tune are restored. They check each time servicing supposedly as well. Also mentioned that if something were to go wrong under warranty and they found it had been tuned when the truck was to come in..... Fords becoming VERY strict. And Can void warranty.
On just drivetrain or every issue down the line is my question though? These trucks are becoming more and more reliant on the ECU these days too so I'd be careful.
I would think every assembly of the truck in which the tune correlates with.....??

Yeah...this is a morning read...

As far as tunes and batteries...

Bottom line is OEM batteries are not the best, cars and trucks rely more and more on computers to control shit and continue to draw power even when the truck is off...trickle charger for me folks...

The Tune issue will never be settled...just hope your dealer uses common sense and does not have Ford Motor crawling up their ass on warranty claims...my doesn't and they even have it on the ticket "custom tune"....I even put my SCT tuner on the passenger side with the instructions, whenever I take it in...just in case...

FYI- toilet post...

Ok! So, they pulled my truck back out with a brand new "Motorcraft Max" battery. The service writer said it had at LEAST one bad cell AND it was an old date battery... All in all I'm happy, got a new battery and they didn't hassle me about the intake or tune (I did revert it to stock first though).:waytogo:

Here it is! Doesn't have the lil indicator window but I guess that really doesn't matter, if it happens again I'll just take it back in... It's probably all in my head but the truck feels like it's responding to the throttle better, it just feels snappier!
