Model year 2025 Keypad - early deliveries

Time to 3d print parts to make prior version work on new trucks. Little labor and a few more $$ no cheap kluge for me. I suspect iPhone/Android keyless entry/security to be optional key, any day now. At this point 98.89% of all drivers have phone on them. Way more secure and could reduce theft, no start drive car without valid phone when setup. For the advantages I would accept it as my keyless entry solution.

This may not be the place for it, but does the phone use Bluetooth for the entry? That would solve my problem as I always take my phone when I go hiking. If it has to connect to a network, I'm screwed since I'm often out of service areas.

Ford App is a cloud solution which is no go. Same issue I don't always have connectivity but with my carrier it is 98% of a solution. Better than there replacement. That is just wrong!@!

If the farthest off road you go is to the Starbux drive through, you don't need it. What blows me away is how useful they are on a work truck and Ford appears to have done away with them altogether. Do they ever talk to their customers? Is every Jose who works construction welded to a phone?

I don’t know. I would say 5-10 years.

One thing that sucks about the keypad being a dealer add on is they are black textured plastic.
On the 2024 Rangers if you ordered the truck with the keypad it was paint to matched and installed at the factory. But on the 2025 Rangers it's a dealer add on and doesn't come paint to match body color. It's just black textured plastic.
