That is exactly how I would describe my issue.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk

Mine does the same thing. It doesnt feel like a miss. It feel like loss of boost, waste gate tuning, ecu tuning issue.

I run both 87 and 93 from time to time. It has dine this with both feuls.

I am not buying the "condensate"'/ "misfire" theory in a basically third generation Ecoboost. 2010-2011 were plagued woth intercooler issues. My 2013 was fine other than I hated the tranny hunting gears on a roll-stop.

The fact that multiple people are reporting a similar issue suggest to me it is inherent to the mass production. Maybe others don't notice as its not severe. You can definatelty hear the RPM plateau during the occurrence.

I will drive 93 for two weeks and see id there is any difference. There is no humidity worse tha LA in my mind. It rains here every week.

I have exoerienced nothing I feel worthy of a dealership visit. They are more likely to break it for me.

Just hit 5K miles and mine does the same thing, has since the day I owned it. Mine seems isolated to acceleration from a roll below 30 mph and about 3/4 throttle like merging off an on-ramp. It's almost like a tire or transmission slip. The motor seems to pull evenly and when the slip goes away it almost feels like a little boost forward...like a wheel slipping and then getting full traction. Its defiantly annoying and I'm not all about drilling holes. I haven't felt it under WOT from a stand still yet, I can’t believe there is nothing official from Ford about this. I'd like to drive another eco boost raptor to see if it does the same thing.

Pretty convinced this is a programming issue.. going to probably need a kam reset or possibly a reflash of the pcm.

My 2018 does this with 600 miles on it. If kam reset means disconnecting my battery for 20 min I've done this. The truck still shutters and it's worse with the AC on. The dealer put 87 in mine, and now I'm on my first tank of 93. This sucks I really hope octane is the problem here. But I'm thinking if octane would affect these motors this bad, Ford wouldn't say in the manual that its ok to put 87 in them.

You have done the KAM reset wrong.
Instructions here:

KAM Reset

Octane will NOT fix your problem.
