Another drive today. About 160 miles since i drilled it and its running solid! Issue is sorted (so far). No loss in power. It feels stronger because its running clean now. Such a stupid fix but it seems to be working. I've had a few intercoolers with pinholes from the factory. Maybe for the same issue. Back in the day i fit an intercooler from a tractor trailer on my DSM! That one had a hole in it too. I'm not seeing any drops in boost and it sure feels better to me. I hate going to the dealer so i figured why not try it and i am happy i did.

Post up some photos of your hole. I would like to see where exactly you drilled it.

Correct - you might be able to do that, but I have not seen a good collection system. The masses just drilled the hole and went with it.

If you go back a page or 2 i posted a pic. It looks a LOT smaller in person. Those end tanks are HUGE. You do have to drop the skid plate to get access. At least loosen 2 the rear bolts and remove the 4 in front.

Misfires can also be caused by the wearing down of the cross hatch marks on cylinder walls. Ford would never recommend this, but 2 tablespoons of high silica play sand directly into the engine via oil filler will get those cross hatch marks back and make your eb motor run smoother. Works great with dual weepholes.

You know, an easy way to check this would be to put some duct tape over the hole and see if the problem reoccurs. You could go back and forth a few times, hole / no hole, and watch the problem start and stop.
Now that someone has actually drilled a hole, this check would be simple.

If you're so concerned about the environment you could run the weep hole through a catch can and just dump it from time to time.
Then i suppose you could see how much is collected... So it's not so voodoo ;)

Or you could just put a screw in the hole to plug it up. Duct tape would leak for sure under boost. Its too much of a pain to access with the skid plate needing to come off to plug it up. I'm not going to bother with that. It was acting up every time before and now it runs clean so i'm convinced its working. I'll report back if it acts up again.

I experience the same issue from time to time, it's when I'm slightly getting on it, as if the boost comes on and off - it feels like a misfire or boost leak / wastage issue to me. I felt this same type of intermittent power deliver on my Supra.

BTW I ONLY run 93 - so I know it's not the fuel.

I also can't 100% guarantee it's just an engine/boost issue only. M wife's 2017 GCL43 was experiencing the same issue in power loss under accelerating like a bucking sensations, I described it as a boost leak to service and even had a video of event - but it was actually her Transmission was slipping cause it was starting to grenade itself and it was recently replaced under warranty.

So it could be anything right now in my mind, and it's not a big enough issue that I can replicate it all the time. So I'm just waiting it out. I have a 100k mile warranty so I'm not too concerned.

That is exactly how I would describe my issue.
