Sorry to run on fellas...just feeling depressed with the whole situation.
I know they are just trucks and I need to just get over it.

But I would like to have at least one new truck that hasn't been ripped apart for major stuff in the first year I own them! I'm not made of money and like you I worked my fair share of 12 plus hour days and saved up to buy theses rigs.

Maybe I expect to much, or maybe I'm making too big a deal over it. Just frustrated.

Thanks for listening to my rant.

Wow. I just read the entire thread and I feel for you. However, I've been working on Jeeps for 20+ years pulling them apart and putting them back together and it's just metal parts. I would ride my Jeeps pretty hard off road and never had any issues with reliability, rattles, or other issues. I know this truck is more complicated due to the IFS, but it's still metal. If the mechanics know what they're doing, you should be fine. I would insist on their senior mechanics working in your rig and I guarantee they'll take care of it. Insist that everything be torqued to spec with Loctite, by hand, no torque rods on impacts. They can use impacts to get it started, but final torquing has to be done manually. A good mechanic will know this.

At some point, you're going to have to trust someone. Just sucks that you're going through this. I just had my oil changed today at 7k and tires rotated, so I can just imaging how it would feel finding something like this...

Good luck.

Well, at least I got a call sign for my truck figured out....."BOLT"

---------- Post added at 08:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:49 AM ----------

And just to make my story clear, I wanted a Raptor all along, before I sold my 1999 longbed Superduty to help pay for my new truck I was watching all the videos of the Raptor and drooling over the ones I saw in town. Took my wife for a demo ride in a used Stormtrooper white one...but I could never get the wife 100% on board with a Raptor because of the shorter bed, she thought it would be too short to put a Elk and gear in for hunting! Gotta love my wife's standards, Hence the 2014 Platinum. And you know the rest of the story.....

Does anyone know if there are Factory trained "Raptor certified " techs, for lack of a better word? Or is there no special training ?

Make a request that ford sends a factory trained specialist to oversee whatever they decide is the proper course of action. Don't be afraid to tell them your experience with the last two trucks and how apprehensive you are about the job being done right the first time. If they are interested in keeping a loyal customer this is the least they could do.
