Can I even pick and choose dealerships to work on it? If i call roadside assistance to come getitwouldntthey just take it to the nearest one. It's hard to know if a dealership is good or bad as far as the actual techs go. I do know the tech who originally cross threaded my drain bolt is not working there anymore. Don't Ford dealerships that sell Raptors have SVT certified techs? I really need Crystals help.

Do you have any buddies that own or work at a tow company? This makes me want to change my own oil at least once, I stopped doing it myself a couple years ago. With 12 vehicles and an hr drive to dump the stuff kinda took the fun out of it for me, especially with the damn diesel F2 50 and 16qts lol

Coupla things-
1- a saving grace is that they are 4 bolt mains and if its a main cap bolt, it's not as bad as if it was 2 bolt mains. There is a chance that the bolt could be reinstalled with no long term damage.
2- if it is a main cap bolt, is there more cap bolts loose?
3- It's virtually a brand new engine, I would go straight to corporate and demand at least a replacement engine and try for a new truck. Shoot for the moon and push the issue as hard as you need to to get the results that satisfy you.

Sorry to see this and I know what your about to go through. Be stern, stand your ground, but don't be an ******* to them, it won't get you anywhere.{ask me how I know} It might be a good idea to retain a lawyer to represent you, it gets results real quick.
Good luck

Just my opinion and I'm not an expert on the subject but I would hold off on the lawyer unless they refuse to help. No one likes it if you tell them you've got an attorney prior to giving the chance to make it good. Again just my two cents, not worth much lol

Do some research thus weekend on dealers close by you. Call them Monday and ask how many Raptors they have worked on.

Where are you located? Maybe we can help.

DO NOT get a lawyer involved yet. Another member did when he had 4 wheel drive problems and Ford said they couldn't help. Do what rookie said and keep everything documented.

It would be nice if it was a case of a dropped bolt that someone couldn't find and all the OEM ones are installed.

Document document document. Keep a note book or word document of all calls and emails. Date, who you talked to, and what was discussed and promised. Hopefully you'll never need it.

I'm not trying to stress you out anymore than you already are, and I'm no qualified engine builder, but I don't think it is as simple as just putting the bolt back in the main caps, I believe the bearing needs to be checked. While your pacing back and worth biting your nails, maybe ask a few engine shops for their opinion. When this is all over and your Raptor is back to normal, you'll be glad you did as much research as possible, it will make the outcome all that much better. Good luck :)

You bet, I have been doing as much as possible, I measured the bolt, I've talked with as many motor heads as I know. Bottom line is I will get the truck pulled apart, and drop the pan . everything after that is unknown.

1. What if all the bolts visible from the bottom are in and tight.
2. What if it was a main cap bolt that fell out, look at the bearing journal and bearing and then if all checks good bolt it back up and press?
3. Did the bolt cause any other damage anywhere else?
4. What did the mechanic forget to do or what care was taken in the FOM ( facilitate other maintenance) to drop the pan. Etc....arrgghhh!

Sure I'd like a new engine, or better yet a buyback and start over....who wants their $60,000 dollar truck pulled apart with all those questions about it?

Just hate to bring this up and not to whine about it but the reason I bought this Raptor was because I bought a brand new 2014 Superduty Platinum F350 in Dec. of 2013 , it had documented emission(NOx sensors) issues and also the ring gear on the starter plate was damaged and it would spin the starter 3-4 times a month . It was in the shop more in the first 2 months than it was on the road...Crystal knows this as she actually helped me with the referral to a regional rep. ...so I traded it in on a new Raptor, paid about $4000 out of pocket for the trade as my new superduty had 5000 miles on it after Ford ripped that truck apart( dropped the tranny to get to the starter ring gear and replaced emissions equipment.)

I made exactly 7000 miles in this new truck , paid it off, and now it has to get ripped apart. I'm sorry but I really don't like mechanics pulling my brand new truck apart. I thought I had a solid truck and was very very happy . Now this. Snakebit 2 times in one year with $60,000 dollar trucks. I take very good care of my vehicles and am VERY **** about them. It borders on OCD actually!

Thank for all the replies and encouraging words....

Yep. Snakebit.

Here is a picture of my broken 2014 Raptor and my new 2014 Superduty that I traded in on it. The Superduty was in this exact spot in my garage one year ago. Crazy
