Damn man! is that the tab including all the planned mods? I can tell you, they're PLENTY fun in stock form.

I don't have any planned mods... not for a long long time.

Bullishone, you have a GTR and a Raptor? Man, that is cool and all but you obviously have money coming out your yin yang... I bet you have a diesel too?

Bottom line it would seem to me is: a Raptor is one of those trucks you know you're going to be buying before you even step on the lot. Comparing with anything else just doesn't work and usually serves the purpose of justifying buying something that is not a Raptor with the logic of "it's almost as good".

I completely agree with this. Before I ordered my Raptor I was going to get a H1. Not even close to being comparable so I didn't even try. I wanted the H1 more but I knew the maintenance costs would be out the roof and the creature comforts wouldn't come close. I thought I could make some money back by running waste vegetable oil (it's also a better lubricator than diesel) but it was highly doubtful and I didn't want the truck to smell like fries. I will have a H1 in the future but since I cannot afford its maintenance I'll just have to wait.

You are 19 and you have a Raptor ordered? And you were worried about maintenance costs?

Yes the Raptor is awesome, but I will be compromising to some extent when I buy it. I will not have near the fuel mileage or towing capability of say a Ecoboost. Its not a clear shot winner for most people... I am willing to make that sacrifice for the off-road capabilities. At the end of the day, it is still a truck... a truck not as capable being a "truck" as a much less expensive option, such as a FX4, or a XLT or whatever...

I don't see where the missing logic is in being worried about maintenance cost? If I were to get a H1 it would already be 10-11 years old with the ****** 6.5L Detroit diesel. Maintenance would probably be 3-8k a year.

I can agree that the Raptor isn't a clear winner for most but isn't that why "most" don't have Raptors? I mean at this point we're really just debating about nothing. Hmm, global warming???

You agreed to Aaron's post, I totally disagree.. Just wanted to make that clear :waytogo:

Anywho... this has been beaten to death. I will be buying one, I have made up my mind.

Now I need to find out exactly what I need to get it from the states to canada, if warranty work can be done in canada, and how much difference in cost it will be.. oh my... haha.

Thanks all.

I guess I agree with both? Lol.

Are you ordering a 2012 or looking for a 2011? Hopefully someone who's already done the US to Canada business will chime in or just make a new thread asking.

2012. White Screw with moon roof, nav, blue accent, plus package, and hood graphics. I was quoted 64000 plus tax for a loaded 2011 at my local dealer... So I decided to try the states haha.. I think a loaded 2011 was going for 55000?... so if I don't get nailed at the border it should be worth my time to drive it up from Maine somewhere.
