Once you've decided on a 4x4, there is only one consideration left: CAPABILITY. The capability consideration as perceived by the user depends on the match between the design of the vehicle and the terrain. When I was researching my purchase, it narrowed down to a comparison between only two vehicles: the Raptor and the Toyota FJ Cruiser. To my way of thinking, the Raptor is optimized for high speed desert use and the FJ is a rock crawler. That said, the Raptor is a terrific rock crawler too, and the FJ is pretty poor for high speed open country use. The Raptor is simply more vehicle, the FJ's options will nickle and dime you to the point of costing more than a Raptor, and the difference in insurance is neglegible. (I'll not discuss fuel economy, because once you've decided on a 4x4 you've decided that capability is much more important than fuel economy. If you want economy, buy a Prius and be a girl.)

So it's a matter of matching your intended purposes (plural - you will have more than one) with the vehicle that best satisfies them.

Heard that there are no delays on any options as of yesterday

Ditto. They are just "rationing" the orders because they didnt expect to build 10,000 of these a year LOL. My dealer has 2 2012'as sold, mine and one other so far, neither order pulled yet.

Kind of a strange question. Why buy a GTR when you can buy a civic for less money, throw some NOS in it and beat a GTR 0-60 for less money plus you can carry friends in the hatch... Hmm. Tough call there.

Its not as simple as that.. towing capabilities/payload, fuel mileage, small box size, and price are very big variables and have to be considering.

Do you really think a hatchback civic with nos would beat a GTR 0-60?

Anyways, when it is all said and done a new Raptor is going to cost me roughly $65000... This for me, is a huge purchase.

Well since I have a GTR I don't care much for a civic. Gas Mileage on a civic will beat a GTR I'm sure. My point is they are two completely different trucks, the raptor is in a league of its own.

Still comparing apples to oranges? Geeze...

Bottom line it would seem to me is: a Raptor is one of those trucks you know you're going to be buying before you even step on the lot. Comparing with anything else just doesn't work and usually serves the purpose of justifying buying something that is not a Raptor with the logic of "it's almost as good".
