"$39.5k for my 2010 SCAB"

Sounds like a very good price even back in 2010.

I have gone through brokers to find my used vehicles & have gotten good deals, but never used one for a new truck purchase. If FMC SVT made an EB 5.0L a Raptor option, I would definitely be interested in "new."

Can you share your broker's contact information?
Yeah of course! I don't know how helpful it will be though since the two companies I've used are NorCal specific:

I've had a good experience with Hammer Auto on a few buys in the past (not the Raptor): HammerAuto.com - Los Altos, CA based Auto Brokers and Leasing Specialists

But when I called about the Raptor, I dunno if I just caught whoever on a bad day or what, but they acted pretty arrogant and rude on the phone. So I went with Cartelligent for the Raptor and they did right by me: Cartelligent

Either company I think would take care of you. I don't have any bad feelings toward Hammer (and a couple other friends of mine have used them since with good results), and Cartelligent got the job done at a price I was happy with.

By the way Cartelligent charged me $500 to broker the whole deal, including finding a dealer who's order slot was due AND who was willing to give it up for a barely over invoice upcharge (a big deal back in the early Raptor days), actually ordering it, fixing a dealer screw up (long story), and getting the truck delivered to me from the dealer 100miles away once it arrived. Money VERY well spent IMHO.

Talking with you is a kick. I haven't had the experience of driving a Raptor fast off-road, but if I do it won't be a new one. I couldn't stand the thought of ******** up a brand new $49K truck. ******** up used truck, even when it costs $45k, just doesn't seem to insult the senses so much.
LOL naaahh... its all in the prerun. Seriously, there's no ******** up your truck if you take your time and run the route a time or three at slow or moderate speed, paying attention and marking the hazards on your GPS. People who screw them up, in my experience, are people who don't take the proper percautions. Like those guys who bent up their frames (and then blamed Ford :baby:); there should be no surprises when your traveling at speed. If you're surprised, you screwed up during your prep and that's on you.

Looking back, I think you answered one of my life questions? Why did I have to put 5 kids through college, instead of 2?

If you think the FX4 has more room I'm going to disagree. The Raptor Screw has tons of room in the back... More than enough actually. I don't understand how the FX4 would have more.. Anywho, it doesn't matter.. The Raptor for its design and purpose its the leader of the pack by far. That is fact. No other truck has ever been designed to do the things the Raptor can do. Period.

I am so glad Maxx posted that info about the size of the gas tanks. That was the deciding factor for me.

I live in a very isolated mining town in western Labrador, Canada. We have two roads out of here, one goes east the other south. Both have an enormous amount of dirtroad. The road that goes south to New Brunswick is about 6 hours. With 2 gas stations on your way out, where gas is about 50 cents over priced per Liter. Then the other road out of here is much longer with a 6 hour drive on pavement and dirt, then another full 6-7 hours on nothing but dirt road.

A Raptor was the obvious choice for me. The 96L tank just wouldn't be enough though, being as bad on fuel as it is. I'm so happy to be able to get a larger tank in the Screw.

Now my dealer is telling me I can't get Nav, moonroof, front or back camera, and the decal package... wtf?? Does anyone have any news on this??

FX4 having more room applied to the 6.5' bed of truck, not the cab. The F150 screw cab has much more usable room than the super duty F250-350 screws.

It sounds like a Raptor is just what the roads you will be driving need as long as you don't need to carry anything longer than ~70 inches.

We should seriously stop comparing the Raptor to the other models. There really is no comparison. It just depends on your needs and that is not a comparison.

I had a 08 Screw 6.5 foot box previous to my 2010 single cab 8 foot box now... I thought I needed the long box.. I really don't. I have trailers for bringing around my snowmobiles, quads, and dirtbikes... I would much rather have the cab space for my luggage and riding gear. Anyone, no one man is alike and we all have different needs and wants.

My dealer just told me this morning actually about the unavailability of certain options.. weird.
