I'd like to make a disclaimer and start out saying that I'm genuinely NOT pointing fingers at anyone who has posted on this thread and my opinion is not referencing frame braces only. I'm simply making a generalization.

These forums are great for learning, supporting, sharing and even bonding. Most everyone here is interested in "modding" their truck and want to pick the best products and make informed decisions which is understandable and smart.

However, I think one thing that needs to be understood is that when we make changes to our trucks, we are accepting some responsibility. I understand and agree that some products are crap, however, I also understand that when I bolt on an aftermarket modification, it doesn't absolve me of responsibility just because I paid a lot of money for it. Shit happens, especially when these trucks are driven like some of you drive (you know who you are). Even with 30k in parts, these aren't Trophy Trucks.

While I believe that companies are responsible to provide a tested and well designed product, I also know that it doesn't mean I can't break it. It doesn't mean that they've tested it in conjunction with every combination of other aftermarket parts... whether its wheels, shocks, exhausts, intakes, etc., and it doesn't mean it will work for my specific wants or needs.

For best results, after installing an aftermarket item, carefully go over the install (if you're doing it yourself) and try and determine if any problems can arise. Or, just slap it on and hit the dirt.... but don't complain if the end of a bolt on your aftermarket leaf pack hits and gouges your frame...which is what happened to me. LOL

We need to understand that we are modifying a vehicle to suit our wants; it's a big toy.

My .02 cents.

I don't think there is anyone in here that has said that any of these companies don't sell top notch product or that lack the understanding that with enough abuse that product will take a shit on you???? I will agree that you should QAQC your job after completion. So are you saying these pictures are your truck? if so can you elaborate on what happened? It be great for all to get a better understanding of how to avoid the same issues.

First off... MERRY CHRISTMAS! and you guys/gals should be with significant others... not on FRF... again. LOL

I apologize if I was being vague. To answer your first question; You are correct, no one said any such thing and it wasn't my intention to imply that anyone did. As far as your second and third questions, no, that is not my truck and I have no idea who's truck it is.

I was just saying that a failed part doesn't ALWAYS mean the part is faulty. (I AM NOT DEFENDING THE POSTED PIC, I have no idea what happened, as far as I know, the driver may have driven over a 2" speed bump at the mall at 20mph with a bed loaded with Christmas presents).

Most of these items we're bolting on to our trucks are going to be significantly stronger than OEM. Exactly how much stronger is an unknown. It's still the owners responsibility to drive within the capabilities of the truck... and sometimes it can get expensive finding the limits of these capabilities... you gotta pay to play.

I know everyone knows this, I was just sending out a reminder.

I have had the Outlaw kit (welded in) for 2-1/2 years. I would suggest if the frame is already bent, this approach may be the best. My Mantra: "Buy Once, Cry Once."

Merry Christmas and Happy Festivus to Everybody!

Pictures of damaged truck parts can be posted all day long. Without verified details, it's just pics.

Who's truck? How did it happen.

If any if you are going to make decisions based on this type if info, your nuts. But hey, go for it. Like I said before, any of them will work for you.

Shit.......And you're going to verify whose truck it is and how it happened by doing what? Let's just say he didn't already say that he didn't know why it failed, how are you going to base a decision off of whose truck it was and how it happened when you can't really prove how it failed....unless you plan on doing testing and really know how to prove what caused the failure- I'm sure it's not something an individual can show exactly.

You can't. So you can keep asking for more details---- What did the guy eat for breakfast? How did he sleep that night? Marital issues? Besides everyone agrees they all work, some agree that they can fail too.

I think Vanilla_Gorilla said it pretty well.

And the picture is what it is.
