ok fellas. i have officially made a purchase. before i get in to my choice, i want to PERSONALLY THANK Gordon(GBrown1867) and Kirk(RaptorAddict). i was able to CLEARLY see from both sides of the fence. not once did they slander ANY company or person. they just stated facts.
Gordon brought to our attention that yes, bump kits do fail. and he brought the rain! i have personally seen his truck at Outlaw. if theres someone whos spent more time and money into developing an amazing driving experience, id have to see it to believe it. he didnt push me in one way or another, just shared with me his experience about the Outlaw Raptor Bump Stop Kit. its been tested and beat to LIVING HELL. with no failures. a solid product.
Kirk shared with me his first hand experiences. for someone whos been in the Raptor game as long as him, when he speaks, YOU LISTEN. so i did. he spoke to me about the Icon and RPG kits. ive reflected alot and the solid truth is, my truck is 99% daily driver. to add 3.0s would be a lot of fun, but financially irresponsible. i am not one to push my truck past its intended limits. the sad truth is, with my shoestring budget, i cant afford to be with out a car(truck). and the roughly $5,000 in 3.0 upgrades could be used for other, more purposeful mods for me. i would like a Lowrance(need dependable navigation), light cannons and 50 inch bar(need lights, right?).
ive also listened to you guys. a lot of you guys PMd me saying "dont count out RPG" etc etc. so i asked a lot of questions. and i found out a great deal of info. the RPG product is great. and theres a reason SO MANY PEOPLE have dropped there hard earned cash on it. and if its good enough for them, who push their truck harder then i do FOR SURE, then its good enough for me who drives in a much more calm and slow pace.
i received several PMs from people who have ran multiple brands of bumb stops. the meat and potatoes of our conversations is "they all do their job, so pick one". the basics is FRAME SUPPORT and BUMP STOPS. and all three brands discussed do their job great.
ultimately, i could not decide. i felt like i was making a life and death decision. this is, after all, my baby. i work hard for her. every busted knuckle doing mods, every time i wash it, every time i fly over a speed bump....my truck is a reflection of me. and your trucks are a reflection of you. im relatively new to the Raptor game. and they say you learn from the past. so i looked back. and looking around the forum, i noticed that there wasnt much debate going on(other then my thread) about bump stops. seems a good portion of members feel that one particular brand shines brighter then others. and for good reason too. theyve sold countless kits from their very basic, to their top of the line with many many add ons. i felt comfortable knowing that i could UPGRADE SEAMLESLY if i choose to do so in the future. i also like the fact that they offer fox bumps stops, since i am keeping my stock shocks and do enjoy some good ol fashioned OCD. LOL.
so based on members experience, ease of install, functionality, and the confidence knowing that this product has been run on trucks from Baja to Ocotillo, i purchased the RPG Stage 2 kit. i dont have any personal allegiance to a company. i didnt make my decision based only on what you said. Icon made it damn close!! but i did listen. i read every PM, every comment. i looked at every web page, watched every video. the evidence led me to RPG.
i purchased a stage 2 through Raptor Addict today and will have it installed hopefully next weekend. thanks to all the members who took the time to voice their opinion and share their experience. thank you to the vendors who made the prices better then i could ask for. heres to finally manning up and just picking one. yay RPG!!! now to discuss Fox vs Icon 3.0s. hahahahahahahahaha j/k j/k. stock shocks for me.
