****** dealer service isn’t going to change just because the manager reached out to make things right. The same idiots who effed things up the first time will still be there effing things up the next time you’re there. I’d tell them that you won’t settle for anything less than a premium maintenance plan. That way, you could go to any dealership and get your free oil changes.

I took a vehicle in for a recall a few years ago, and after they completed the work and parked the car out front, I went to the service desk to get my keys. The service advisor who wasn’t doing anything refused to check me out because I had to wait for “my” service advisor to be free to finish up the paperwork. After waiting ten minutes I walked over to my still busy advisor, took my keys off his desk, and left. They got the lowest possible score I could give on the survey, and then they spent the next month blowing up my phone and email, attempting to get me to change my survey.

Having dealt with that harassment, the only thing I would ever settle for now is something that would allow me to not have to deal with the offending dealer ever again.

Aren't those warranties a couple of thousand dollars? If you can get that, I'd definitely take that and go somewhere else.......to another crappy dealer where you can reinvent the wheel and get your free stuff! Win...Win!

Oh, it always gets my irish hackles in a tizzy the minute someone says my wife’s best friend’s cousin twice removed’s closest bestest friend works at the dealer.

If your great grandpapy owned it and truly loved ya, that’s yer first clue you’re not only a redneck but youse about to take it up the poop stack.

One of my close friends grew up with a dude. They are still super close. His bud owns a huge Acura stealership. He’s leased at least 10 vehicles there. Not once has he gotten any better deal than Joe Blow. He has gotten service discounts but that’s it.

my advice: accidentally drive your new truck through the showroom window. That’ll learn em.

Can't we all just get along?

Sometimes you can cut off your nose to spite your face. I bought a motor home where the sales staff did a good job, but the service department was horrendous. I've also had poor salesman (drunks), but the Service Department was good. You could end up with a major issue, where you're stuck to return it to the dealership you pissed off.

I've found that you play nice with Service and they'll treat you well. I've been changing my own oil and doing ALL my own repairs since I was 15 years old, as I couldn't afford to pay someone else to do it. With that said, I'm now 64 years old and it sure is nice to drive into a dealership, wait in their lounge, have a coffee and donut while they change my oil and wash my car.

Do I trust every dealer....no....but you can watch what they do, check their work and know that they can't invalidate your warranty because THEY did the work. Just stay on top of them.

I've had my 2019 Raptor since June last year. Dealer forgot to switch my auto insurance from my STX trade, over to my Raptor. 5 months later I get my renewal, not for my Raptor, but for my STX trade. Travelers was accommodating, to back date a 5 month lapse. I would have sued everyone involved had they not back dated my Raptor. Just another example of dealer mistrust. Why would the dealer be responsible for switching over your auto insurance? Is that a Florida thing?
