If you can only find a damaged harness then yes do this. If you can find a while harness then do the whole thingI was thinking about buying a used wiring harness and cutting off the connectors and just wiring them together. Is this what you mean?

In the A2B data cable between the 2 "shields" on that diagram is an inline connector that lives under the center console. You can get both the front and rear sections individually and separately from the 14A005 harness that it is built into from the factory.
