Dan, chill the hell out. We're here to ask and answer questions, not listen to your diatribes.

mrpork, welcome to the forums. I hope Dan's response hasn't given you the wrong idea about this community. Mark's post is much more indicative of what you can expect from everyone here.

Glad to have ya, and I hope to see you asking many more questions in the future. This truck is incredible, and if we can help convince you of that then we've done a great thing :)

mrpork, I can state that I have owned several truck, and I am one of the guys who "questioned" the clunks. HOWEVER, I will also admit (due to health issues) I only have 2500 miles on my truck. Hardly broken in, but as of now I do think the clunks are in part or all about the shocks. I hear it more over small road bumps than anything else at this point. The truck is a dream to drive, and a highway queen for sure... not had it off road yet, and I plan on that soon. I also plan on letting one of my local NV drivers, drive mine or/and let me drive theirs. I am VERY picky, so will update... but for sure, this truck is amazing! Go buy one today!

I am thinking the "clunk" may be coming from the man step in tail gate. It may seem too simple of an answer, but I went underneath and tried to recreate the noise. I wiggled the heck out of the counter balance weight thingy, tried to jiggle the spare and everything. I couldn't replicate any clunk. I bounced up and down un the back to see if the shocks made any peculiar sounds and nothing. Then I wiggled the man step cap with the tailgate closed and my bak flip HD In place and it's a bit clunky. Just curious if everybody who has experienced the clunk also has the man step. And, if those who do not have clunkage also do not have man stepage.

The biggest concern I have is the shocks... they are expensive and the warranty is only 3/36,000. The Ford extended warranty does NOT cover the shocks. But the Ford service plan apparently does. (the one that pays for all the oil changes and regular maintenance). Keep that in mind if you're concerned... 4 new shocks will cost you about $2400 plus installation so depending on how you drive and how long you intend to keep the truck it might be worth it.
Don't forget that the shocks are 100% rebuildable and NEVER need to be replaced.
Most guys will charge around $100 a shock.

As far as the noise's people here, its a truck and they make noise's. If you want a quite nice ride go buy an E-class

Who is Kenny and why wouldnt they rebuildable?
I find it hard to believe that Fox would build a shock that's going on a "prerunner" that's not rebuildable.

I'll look for some pics to see

Edit, I just called Fox and they are rebuildable

Kerry Baldori, one of SVT's lead engineers (and who worked directly on the Raptor project). We hosted a chat session with him and a few of his colleagues a few months ago. Check it out here: http://www.svtoffroad.com/showthrea...table-07-24-10-Chat-Live-with-SVT-Engineering!
