You guys really are silly. Record high gas prices were double what they are now. Guess when that was? 2008. Guess what happened next?

Gas prices were also $5 a gallon in 2014 after the recession....

Add-ons don’t really add-on unless it’s stuff you wanted. The used car market is already cooling down now. It’s not hitting specialty stuff yet but it’s all on its way as new car manufacturing ramps back up. Who cares if a new raptor is coming or not? It’s a pickup, and competes with premium pickups. Even the OP isn’t dead set on a Raptor, he just wants another expensive pickup. There will be way more to pick from in a few short months. Especially for under $70 freaking thousand.

Raptors will hold their value no matter what. Are the prices slightly inflated because of COVID? Yea, but it doesn’t matter because the Raptor still holds it own regardless of a pandemic, gas prices, and so on. Prior to the pandemic, the values for Gen 2 Raptors were quite strong.

The new Raptor coming out matters because it affects supply and demand—something your not comprehending. If Ford waits until 22 to release the new Raptor, the Gen 2 pricing will be even more ridiculous since no new Raptors are hitting the market. Those of us that owned Gen 1s, watched this phenomenon occur in 15-16.

70 freaking thousand? You act surprised or something. What do you think the majority of us Gen 2 owners paid for our trucks? Heck, MSRP was around $78k for some fully loaded 2020 802a Raptors.

Prices are up 10-20% in the last couple months. Something you’re not comprehending. It’s an uptick not a trend. People were way under MSRP in late summer now good luck... nobody knows about the next Raptor.

if you paid $70k for your genII you didn’t do it this past summer. COVID helped people buying this summer. New trucks were almost cheaper than used.

I don’t understand what your trying to say. Even if you knock 10-20% off of some of these prices, the depreciation rate of a Raptor is still outperforming the majority of vehicles out there? Pandemic or not, these trucks hold their value very well.

I’m not arguing that at all. I’m not talking about the pandemic at all. I bought the dumb thing for the exact reasons you are saying.

I’m saying. Right now. Prices on Raptors are bonkers. And it will level out shortly. They are overpriced now, just as they were undervalued in August or so. Just like all other vehicles not called Tesla’s, Camrys, and Tacoma’s.

Lol okay, I was misunderstanding what you were trying to say. Yea, it’s possible that the prices dip some. I see that happening on mostly the older model years/higher mileage Gen 2s. Lol I have seen some Gen 2s with 100k miles listed for around $50k—now that’s crazy.

I don’t see a 20% drop on a low mileage 19-20 happening anytime soon. With no new Raptors coming out for at least a year, most dealerships will not sell the remaining 19 and 20 Raptor inventory at invoice and below MSRP. So the market is going to be driven up and likely stay high for 19 and 20s because dealerships know they are not getting another Raptor until at least another year. If 19 and 20s are selling for a higher price point, then what they have been selling for, that’s going to help keep the market high. That’s the point that I was trying to make. I am bullish on this because I watched it happen in 15-16—I understand that just because something happened in the past, doesn’t mean it will happen again. But it is trending in that direction for new Raptor sales as Ford had a very strong October. It is going to be harder and harder to find invoice pricing on new 2020 Raptors because the inventory is becoming less and less.

Granted, a second wave of COVID during the winter and into the spring resulting in more shut downs, could make us both wrong.

Glad they are offering you a more than fair amount, I suspected that might be the case with crazy used Raptor pricing. I’d search for a deal on a new one or just lease something for 24 months til the 3rd gen comes out.

Yeah I did that the first time around found exactly what I wanted (or thought so @ The time...I’m all set w/ black again tho) and got a great deal. This time don’t really have the time - I’m surprised that people are so willing to pay that kinda coin for a used vehicle - an extreme offroad one at that- when new ones can be had for less than $10k more

I mean I appreciate That it’s the case b/c it helped me in terms
Or ins value, but it’s not something I would do, just too much $$$ for a used vehicle

the white one in NY does seem like a great deal in a way since only 3500 miles, but I mean.....why is it up for sale? Something seems weird

When the time came for me to return my Rubicon and get into a Raptor the best deal I was able to find was from AutoSaver Ford in Comstock NY. The dealers fee`s were only $75.00 and from what I was told by other forum members this fee was set by the state. I bought a 10 in 19 and it is a SCREW 802A, Panohood, hood and exterior graphics package, Technology package, second row heated seats, spray in bed liner, and dealer installed hard folding cover. I paid $62,760 plus sales tax and $75.00 document fee. I thought I did pretty well on the deal ??

FIRST OFF how are you feeling from the accident?

Valid point on the sacking her, if she stayed in her car that door-skin can hide a lot of scared things. Was she hurt at all?

Like mentioned above and on the forum look at how people were paying over sticker MSRP.

If you had any extended warranty you paid for or wheel protection paint protection etc. that money is also supposed to be returned to you
Did they mention anything about aftermarket items that you had put on the truck? Could you remove them from the truck since you have the receipts or will they reimbursed you ?
I was able to unbolt everything that I had put on my Rubicon and return it to stock

I went through it with 3 vehicles, one totaled, one NJ Lemon Law and my Rubicon that went back to the dealer to resell to some poor soul or hopefully a clueless person.

Did you receive anything stating what the damage repair cost would be? I wonder if you get a copy of what it needed to be brought back to pre accident condition Also curious about what the insurance buy back would be.

I’d bet if the price was right you would have several forum members willing to buy it as a complete truck from you if you went that route.

On the shifty side of doing things, if they just want the sticker MSRP and not your contract, I have known a few people who have had the “Dealer installed items” hand written piece of paper sent in with their sticker and had their um dealer installed items covered by the insurance company, things like ceramic coating and other things
