Great points. Funny, how this truck won't even be able to be ordered for another 16 months and I am so disappointed that they won't drop a V8 in it. I will hold off and not order one until the V8 is back. If Ford decides they won't breakdown and bring back the V8, I will find a 14 and just be patient looking for the truck I want. This blows.

I'm equally disappointed and like you, have no interest in a V6 Raptor at any HP. But the one thing I've learned about owning and modifying this truck is that it wouldn't be that hard to take an F150 (or any other truck) and build something capable of blowing the doors off of a stock Raptor.

Yea but it seems svt models hold their value. Look at what 03 cobras still command and their 11 years old. I sold my first one for more money than I paid. I sold my second one right after the housing crash and took a loss. However, if I still had it today I'm pretty sure I could get what I sold it for years ago or close to it. If there isn't a na v8 option I think prices on the Gen 1s stay high...
I sold my terminator for the truck, I was the original owner and had it 10 years. Really miss that car! I always wanted to hold on to it. But I am more happy it held its value, and I used the money down for an equally awesome SVT that I really never plan on selling

Ford would be smart to introduce both engine options. Then we can even more nonners (street queen) running around.

I think the idea of an ecoboost V8 is nice, but will not happen. Unless there's a Shelby edition in 2020.

The sad fact is that until October 2016 we won't know shit and will have to keep playing the speculation game

Yea..... I didn't take a huge hit on the second one. It was just the worst time to sell a pleasure vehicle. I should have held on to it for another 2 years and I would have gotten more for it.
I really enjoy my Raptor. It's my first svt vehicle since I sold my last 04 Cobra. Its one hell of a truck.

Sure the 5.2 flat plane would be amazing but I could definitely live with a 6.2 option even as a Base model motor i dont really care i just dont think i could do a raptor with the eco.. I had a 12 f150 with 3.5 eco and i LOVED the motor i had no complaints like the many you hear of my mileage was great i spun the 37x13.5 toyos down the block no issue ( thanks to my MPT tune) the only issue i had was i missed the original pick up truck feeling due to it being a whisper factory no exhaust note. I also have never heard a eco sound good in any form maybe if they can find some way to rework the exhaust so it sounds ok i would be interested many other manufacturers do it and a few with the same displacement and Direct injection.

I come from a different world then many here I emagine. I have only owned Japanese vehicles other then a few Fords I bought for my last business used. I am brutal with my trucks. I have always believed in factory built 4x4s that could deliver with out being built from the ground up, and the Raptor impresses me greatly. It feels like a finely built and thought out 4x4 with amazing strength. I run a 1996 Montero for trails with 37's on stock drive-train except gearing right now as an example.

Anyhow, I avoided the first Gen raptor, well because I was broke...But once I found out the second gen would gain gas mileage it did ring true for me. The 2017 Raptor will be a daily driver for my Auction Business and log flight hours on the weekends. Gas mileage DOES matter. Sure, I could get a Prius, but damn if I can get more power and better mileage I am all in. I enjoy my 2005 Titan V8, but the eco boost will hit 125HP more. V6, who fricken cares!

It sounds like you rednecks buy trucks because the engine sounds good, not for the capabilities. I'm sure you bought the loudest exhaust and the biggest loudest train horns you could find maybe you even have some chrome balls hanging. Embarrassing being part of this group.

I think you're being a bit brash. I agree with you that many people here are being a bit over the top/whiney but I also understand buying a performance/fun vehicle and wanting it to sound good. For some that's a fun part of the equation. I personally look forward to having more technology/performance out of the the truck but will still miss the V8 rumble.

If there are a lot of rednecks here buying these trucks there is a lot of them with lots of $$$ :ROFLJest:

I do have the loudest exhaust. Still sounds good though. Don't need the truck balls. I figured the engine would be a good enough substation for the raisenets I'm packing. Train horns? Meh, I'll just flash me with all my lumens and make sure I downshift when I pass. :flipthebird:
