Great points. Funny, how this truck won't even be able to be ordered for another 16 months and I am so disappointed that they won't drop a V8 in it. I will hold off and not order one until the V8 is back. If Ford decides they won't breakdown and bring back the V8, I will find a 14 and just be patient looking for the truck I want. This blows.

What's funny is that before this announcement everyone kept complaining you couldn't get the ecoboost in a raptor!

I do agree there should be a engine choise, optional v8 or ecoboost v6, just like they do with the new mustang.

Everyone was complaining? I'm pretty sure almost no one was complaining about not getting the Ecoboost. It just seemed like more people because the 3 who wanted it mentioned it in every post they submitted,LOL.

Actually, it's what kept me from buying a raptor in 2011!

The ecoboost will be great in the desert for high speed, but for slow speed stuff Id stick with the 6.2 personally.

We Definatly need both motors offered in the raptor.

It wouldn't matter to me about the horsepower that is generating from a V6. This truck needs a V8 Option. I am still mind blown. The complaints over the 6.2 were minimal. If Ford reintroduced the truck with an engine option, it would be a win/win for them and most of us. I guess my search for a 2014 Blue SCAB will intensify when I know for sure Ford doesn't want 55K + from me. Oh well.

You will not have an issue finding a used 2014 and for a good price. I think prices for the 1st gen will plummet when the 2017 is released. I think 1st gen owners will be getting rid of their trucks when specs are released for the 2017. Hell guys on this forum are getting rid of their trucks now. Look at the for sale thread in the last 3-4 weeks, lots of guys are selling.

Yea but it seems svt models hold their value. Look at what 03/04 cobras still command and their 11 years old. I sold my first one for more money than I paid. I sold my second one right after the housing crash and took a loss. However, if I still had it today I'm pretty sure I could get what I sold it for years ago or close to it. If there isn't a na v8 option I think prices on the Gen 1s stay high. If the Gen 2's have a v8 it will be lower but still won't depreciate like an average truck.
Look back to post on here 1.5 years ago and see how many people bought 14's under the rumor that the Gen 2 would be a v6 ecoboost.
