TCSC - Well put. I do prefer square to round. The Ford looked like a bubble to me. Those 10th gen, 1997-2003. The 11th gen 2004-08 got better. 12th gen 2009-14 are still round...

The 4th gens are beautiful.. thats 1961-66. Shoot, up until 1986 they still looked good to me.

I'm interested in Ford because I'm buying into the hype about their redesign.

I'm also confused by the comments on it exhaust note... really? Somebody won't buy, what appears to be the most technological and capable off-road truck ever built by a major automaker, because it sounds weak? I just can't wrap my tiny little brain around that concept.

I'm confused by the people who are confused by this. Enthusiasts care what their cars/trucks/motorcycles sound like. Always have and always will. Ford knows that, too. That's why they are piping fake V8 engine sounds in through the speakers for all their ecoboost models.

The automotive aftermarket is a more than $300 billion dollar industry, which means that unless exhaust is less than 1/3 of 1% of that (unlikely), it's a billion dollar industry. People are spending a lot of money on making their cars and trucks sound the way them want them to.

If you don't care, then good for you. You'll love the new Raptor.

I personally don't see myself getting over the mid 90s Grand Prix exhaust note, though.

As a follow up, I feel the need to point out once again that aluminum, turbos, and direct injection are not new technology. Some of you people really are susceptible to marketing hype.

Why don't the market carbon build-up on the valves and the recommended service intervals for a walnut shell blast? :ROFLJest:

Trucker - That statement is exactly why I've been baffled... just change the exhaust if thats the "only" cause for concern.

Yes, the world is fooled by marketing hype daily... its why marketing firms earns millions of dollars.

Your absolutely right, turbos, aluminum, and DI, are not new... however, they can be used in news way right, better ways even... advanced technology. Which I think means taking current tech and advancing it?

Again, I'm baffled that you're baffled. Have you never heard a V6 before? They have a very flat exhaust note and that's about the kindest way I can think to say it.

Putting aftermarket exhaust on it is only going to make it worse...

I've got an idea for a new marketing campaign.

And that's saying a lot. Considering you've changed the exhaust on your Raptor at least 5 times now.

Exactly...I made two changes to the eco boost. Deleted the resonator on the stock setup, then added the DB exhaust. Gave up after that. The Raptor finally had the setup I like...for now haha...
