The 911 997 GT2 @3.4s. The Porsche 9FF GT9R clocks in at 2.9s. The fastest Porsche 911 GT3 clocks in at 3.1s.
At this point there are no timed tests of the Ford GT, but it is expected to be around 3s.
The 2003 GT closed in at 3.8s.
None of those porches are half the price of the Ford GT.
It looks like you did some research however the 991 911 Turbo S is a 2.8 as pointed out above and runs $200,000 optioned out. If the GT is $400,000 + or - that would be half the cost, based on my back woods math.
But back on topic, I'm still in the fence!

I guess Im not getting the whine here. Its a V-6 and not a V-8, it doesnt sound "bad ass", It wont get the fuel economy claimed, whatever? Im sure it will still be one improved, refined kick ass truck that will command respect.
IF I could afford to buy a new one, I'd wait still til the bugs get worked out. But my concern would be the 10 speed tranny, not the motor. This should be the refinement of a damn good motor and make more power to boot. Should be better gas mileage too which is the major rub on the current Eco Boost. And its still a RAPTOR, the baddest production truck to date. It doesnt diminish our soon to be "non current" trucks. If things didnt improve with time and inovation, we wouldnt be here.
Otis,
I share your concern on tranny issues. I went through this very issue on a 2016 Z06 8L90 that GM rushed into production. Lots of issues so much to the point of selling the car. Same can be said on the escalade that we own which has had the converter replaced along with numerous other issues here and there. Again, same 8 speed transmission.
These already have less problems a year after release.
Just part of the bugs that come with new adaption!
