OCbuckeye.... Look at page 2 of this thread. I had the exact same issue in early February of this year. I requested the replacement of the molded lead frame and I have had zero problems since. Cost $994 at the Honolulu dealership. I am in San Diego now and still trying to get reimbursed for the cost. Straight ******** from Ford. I am pretty sure they are trying to wear me down so that I will just give up on seeing them do the right thing. Anyhow.... read the details of the TSB and see if your truck falls within the build date and mileage. Try another stealership. Ohhh and I received a recall to have the PCM flash a couple of weeks ago. Go figure.

I checked in my ford ownership account and show the safety recall for the reprogram, I also show two field service issues.

The real problem is that they won’t do the work if it does not have several codes and I have not been able to make the code persist on the wrench. Good to know that yours was fixed by the leadframe replacement. I’m going to drive it around this weekend and see if I can get it to come up.

Appreciate it divedeep1!

Here is a video of the instrument cluster and a visual of what is happening when the truck is going down the road. The wrench is thrown but there is still no persistent code after you turn off the ignition. As you can see as I’m driving down the road at 30 mph, the transmission in the truck is in 6th gear and tries to shift into 1st. And then all over the place.

I took mine in yesterday and the dealer said the fix "wouldn't take" and they've seen that on several occasions. They told me a new version would be out in mid-June that will work. Has anyone else encountered this?

I just called this morning to get mine looked at, called my local dealer and was told they had been told not to do anything with the recall yet. He really couldn't tell me why, but said I would receive another letter with more information. So I called another dealer in the next city over. He told me that Ford hadn't come out with the program for the 6.2 liter yet. So what do you do?????

I had the recall with the new tranny computer module software installed at Mullinax Ford in apopka,FL about two months ago. It took about 20 min. They were cool and didn’t drive my truck all over as part of the “recall test” or take it to the back to hot rod it. They did everything in front of me and off I went. I was thinking the same thing about why the hell it took so long to issue this recall if it was that dangerous. 5 year old truck that could have unexplainably shifted to 1st gear no matter how fast your going or what gear your in causing the tires to lock up. Come on Ford. I thank god this never happened to me especially at highway speeds. On another note I did just get a new notice the other day saying that the output shaft speed sensor could fail, but that if the check engine light doesn’t come on then you don’t have to bring it in. If it does they would replace the “transmission molded lead frame”. They extended the warranty on it to 10 years or 150k. I’m going to take it in to make sure this wasn’t cancelled out when they did the previous recall since the new notice just came out. Hopefully no “new” recalls pop up after these. Side question- i traded a 2012 Boss 302 mustang for the Raptor and before I got rid of it I got a recall for the airbags. I took it to a Ford dealer and the guy seemed confused that I brought it in so quickly. He told me that they “didn’t have the new airbags and had no idea when they were coming in”. Uhhhh... This recall I didn’t get until 2015 and 25k later.Just wondering is it a common Ford thing? None of my other non Ford vehicles ever had a recall.

Same here, 19S07 done 3/21, got 19N01 in the mail over the weekend. WTF? I have no codes (that our reader can see) or symptoms (thankfully), but was planning on swapping the lead frame as preventative next time I service the transmission. I'm already over 150k though, think my only option is to go ahead and order one and see if I can talk a local dealer into the "Have you previoiusly paid for this repair?" refund...however that never happened on a different recall (18M01 from 7/18) we had at work...

Right on. What year is yours? I just hit 61k on my 2013. I have a work vehicle though. I haven’t ever had any check engine lights and thankfully don’t have signs or symptoms either. Just for my peace of mind though I’m still going to take it to Ford. Hopefully they are cool and hook you up with a refund. I’ll post what they tell me for everyone that’s curious (and still under warranty) if they will replace it even though there are no check engine lights or symptoms.

2012 screw with roush SC from JDM. I was having the same issues, contacted JDM and they originally told me to take the truck to the dealer, return to stock, get the update, then reapply their tune. But then I was told that would not work and that they are rewriting the tune with the update from Ford included in it, I just had to buy a tune revision from their website for 80 bucks. So I did that, retuned the truck and all was good for about two months. Now the issue has returned and is even worse than before. The truck is currently not drivable. I’ve taken off battery cables and let it sit, then as soon as I put it in drive it will do a hard shift to 5 gear. (Previously if I removed a battery cable and let it sit it would fix itself for a week or two, now I can’t even move the truck without it happening). Any other supercharged guys dealt with this yet? Not being able to run the truck on the stock tune is causing problems for me not being able to get the truck to the dealer for them to check codes

I had the downshift recall done "successfully" a few months ago and then noticed that Ford is asking for a do-over (at least for the 2013s):

  • Recall Date: JUN 10, 2019
  • Recall Title: 6R80 SUDDEN TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING
  • NHTSA Recall Number: 19V433
  • Ford Recall Number: 19S19
  • Recall Description: THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) SOFTWARE USED TO SERVICE 2013MY F-150 5.0L AND 6.2L VEHICLES IN ACCORDANCE WITH RECALL 19S07 DID NOT HAVE THE UPDATES NECESSARY TO PREVENT A POTENTIAL UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR AND ILLUMINATE THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT (MIL) IN THE EVENT OF AN INTERMITTENT TRANSMISSION OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR (OSS) SIGNAL.
  • Risk to Safety: A VEHICLE WITHOUT THE INTENDED 19S07 CALIBRATION REMAINS AT RISK FOR UNINTENDED TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT DUE TO AN INTERMITTENT OSS FAILURE. DEPENDING ON VEHICLE SPEED, AN ABRUPT TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR WITHOUT WARNING COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
  • Remedy Program: OWNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY MAIL AND INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THEIR VEHICLE TO A FORD OR LINCOLN DEALER TO HAVE THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMED WITH THE APPROPRIATE SOFTWARE CALIBRATION. THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE. FORD IS EXCLUDING REIMBURSEMENT FOR COSTS BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY PROGRAM WOULD PROVIDE FOR A FREE REPAIR FOR THIS CONCERN. FORD WILL FORWARD A COPY OF THE NOTIFICATION LETTERS TO DEALERS TO THE AGENCY WHEN AVAILABLE.
  • Status: 11 - RECALL INCOMPLETE
  • Manufacturer Notes: TO CHECK FOR NON-SAFETY-RELATED PROGRAMS APPLICABLE TO YOUR VEHICLE, SEE HTTP://WWW.FORD.COM/ OR CALL YOUR FORD DEALER.
