So been following this thread since I got the Recall...as some might of read my past threads, lots of drama because I have a Supercharger...and Ford Corp. and Dealer said leave it alone....
So...FLUSH or DRAIN...got 74K on mine and figure it needs it...was going to do the FLUSH,but reading all kind of threads about it not being good because it will dislodge any small metal pieces (if any) into the Leadframe and cause failure...so now figuring just do a DRAIN and change the filter....
Thoughts from you experts....? Drain or Flush..that is the question... :33:
Sorry, I meant I did a drain of the pan and filter change. I actually used a pump to suck out the fluid into a jug, and pumped the same amount I pulled out back in with new fluid. The trick was guessing how much extra to add for the amount in the filter and spillage. There is now way this could cause any damage, I also recommend doing this every 50k miles or so. Not doing maintenance is what causes damage not proper maintenance. No matter what any manufacture says, there is no such thing as lifetime fluid.

400 some bucks was the price for the part. My total out the door price was between 1,100 and 1,200 bucks. I had my dealership do entire thing. So just the drain and flush might be rt. But when I have my dealership do drain and flush for routine maintenance they also drop the pan and change the filter inside
That’s an honest and trustworthy dealership, consider yourself lucky. Great job on maintaining your truck! Looking forward to many more posts.
